Nikki's P.O.V:

Hmmm... I really need to get this place redecorated. Maybe Brandon and I can call in that designer?

RENÉE: "Hey Mom, I'm back."

NIKKI: "Hi my sweet Renée, how was your first day back?"

RENÉE: "Wish I could say it was good. But noooo, some savage, wild animal decided to tear the cover off my diary!"

NIKKI: *Sigh* "I know that feeling all too well. Probably should have seen that coming with Megan Clarke around."

RENÉE: "Huh? How did you know that?"

NIKKI: "Trust me. I've been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Her mom Mackenzie, she's the one who tore apart my first ever diary.
The one I cherished so dearly, my prized possession."

RENÉE: "Is that why you don't have a diary from your childhood?"

NIKKI: "No, there was another diary after that. But...um... I lost it."

I know that parents shouldn't lie to their children, but I'd prefer it if the past was left in the past.

RENÉE: "You lost it?"

NIKKI: "Y-Yeah, that's it."

Oh come on Roberts, that's not gonna convince your daughter. She's gonna see right through you!

RENÉE: "Hmmm... Besides that I met a guy today."

NIKKI: "...A guy? You mean, like, a boy right? A boy boy? A male?"

RENÉE: "Yes? But don't worry about it, my heart belongs to Jordan and nobody else."

NIKKI: "I see, it's just a little...strange that you met a boy right after your diary was torn."

RENÉE: "What's so strange about that?"

NIKKI: "It's not important."

Just a little deja vu is all.

RENÉE: "Okay...? But I really feel like I've made a new friend today. He didn't ask me once for your autograph and-"

NIKKI: "I see, you're paranoid that people are just going to befriend you, to get close to me."

RENÉE: "I'm sorry, but yes, that's right. Why else do you think I've only had Ashley and Charlie by my side? They already know you, so they're not putting on any acts."

NIKKI: "And Jordan?"

RENÉE: "Not once has he ever asked me about you. He's such a great guy. He's a total beefcake too!"

NIKKI: "Beefcake?"

RENÉE: "F-Forget I said that! Ugh...how embarrassing."

Hm? What's this on the news?

ANCHORMAN: "BREAKING NEWS! 3 teenagers who resurfaced after disappearing in Westchester have been arrested on counts of breaking and entering. Cases like this continue to rise and authorities are prepared to take precautionary isolation measures upon discovering missing people."

NIKKI: "Oh dear... Listen sweetie, I don't want you to go outside after dark. It's not safe for kids your age out there right now."

RENÉE: "I'm not a kid, Mom. I'm 17!"

NIKKI: "To me, you will always be my kid. I'm your Mom and I'm trying to tell you what is best for your safety."

RENÉE: "Ugh, fine Mom, whatever."

I just wish that Renée's attitude would change already. That Jordan guy is a bad influence on her I can tell. Brandon didn't like the look of him during Thanksgiving dinner.

Who knows, maybe Renée will have a change of heart and maybe this new guy in her life could be a good influence on her.
