It was a typical Sunday. James already left for his business trip and Rose is already gone to meet - my mom, actually. After their chit-chat after school, they decided to meet at some local cafe, some other place than the diner. I can't wait to listen to both of their stories. I bet my mom is like "Ahw, she's so kind" while Rose will be like "Your mom has a temper".
It's funny. While I'm the lazy and chill one, my mom is known to lose control of her temper easily. While Rachel can easily get into rage mode, Rose is the chill one. Weird, actually.
But here we were, laying in bed at 3 pm. We weren't in the mood for getting up, neither of us had plans, anyway. We were just cuddled up, relaxing. We both were up but no one said anything. It was a comfortable kind of silence, though, just enjoying each other's presence. I love the smell of her. She always smells like jasmine, while I... smell like weed and cigarettes all the time. I should start wearing cologne or something.
I caught myself admiring her. Staring at her kinda came part of my morning routine, but I just can't help it. She caught my glimpse and just smiled at me. She commented it the first few times but she got used to it and is just smiling whenever she catches me staring at her.
"Ok, as much as I like staring at you and laying here with you, I think we should do something." - "What do you have in mind, Price?" - "Lay longer in bed and then go to the cinema this evening. I know I have school tomorrow, unlike you, but I don't mind getting home a bit late." - "I like that plan." I smiled. "This one is on me by the way." - "Since when do you have money?" She looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "Oh, watch it, Amber. But actually, my mom lend me some money for the week." I mean it's kinda known that I'm always broke. I don't blame her. It was embarrassing enough that she paid for my whole damn tattoo sleeve. "Then I'm accepting your invitation." - "You wouldn't have another choice anyway," I winked at her.
We didn't really know what kind of movie we were going to watch, but we decided that we'd decide spontaneously.
So we did as planned. We continued to lay in bed until our damn backs hurt. Why the fuck is your back hurting when you lay in bed for too damn long? It should be comfy! But nevermind, we got up and got ready. It was 6:30 pm, which was a pretty good time. We'd leave the house at something around 7 pm. We also decided on wearing a flannel. I don't know why people see it as a gay thing to wear these. They are god damn comfy, alright? With pretty casual looks on us, we left Rachel's house and drove off to the cinema. It was a 10 minutes drive.
"Should we buy something at the grocery store or buy overpriced drinks and snacks at the cinema?" I heard Rachel ask me. "First, I don't know if that was a pun, second, nope, it's my treat anyway and I kinda want that large coke cup that fits perfectly in the cup holder of the seats." - "Uhm, alright." I guess she was very surprised by my answer. But yes, I love satisfying thing, don't blame me, please.
As soon as we reached the cinema, we hopped out of my rusty truck and got tickets for some action movie. Good thing that Rachel isn't in those chliché romance movies. But hey, Fifty Shades Of Grey would've been totally fine with me, too! Just kidding.
"Let's get a big bucket of popcorn, we share anyways," I told Rachel. " You know where this popcorn sharing as lead us last time, right?" she smirked at me. I swear, I would have pinned her right to the wall if we weren't here.
"Hello, what can I do for you?" the employee asked us. I gave him a death glare. Did he really just looked at her boobs? Unbelievable. Eyes up here, kiddo. He took our orders of a big bucket of popcorn and two large cokes. I paid and we went off. "He stared at your boobs." - "So do you." - "Hey, I'm allowed to do that, alright!" She chuckled at me.
Sitting in our seats, I was somewhat relieved to put the goddamn bucket down. It's so uncomfortable to carry that thing, seriously.
As expected was the film lame as fuck, the popcorn bucket was half on the floor from our little food fight and the cokes were emptied. It was an enjoyable evening after all. We drove off, laughing the whole way back from our bad jokes we told each other. Rose was still nowhere around. Interesting, I didn't know you can have a fun day with my mom. If it isn't me who is with her. The company is good for her, though. She doesn't have too many friends, the diner is keeping her busy, always.
I can't believe that I have school tomorrow again, while Rachel stays home. And because of my mom, I can't even stay with Rach. I know my mom. If she says that she'll call the school every day to check if I was there, she really is going to do that. But I think I can handle that one week. I was so damn wrong.
A/N: No guys, I haven't forget about you. The first week of school just kicked my ass and I had barely time to write or do something creative at all. I hope this gets better next week and I'll be actually able to publish two chapters in a week as planned. Still love me? Also, spoiler alert, a plot twist is gonna happen.
