A/N: I felt guilty for leaving you guys with a cliffhanger - Also I forgot to ask you something, is anyone interested in having a Kik group? I'd open a group and let you know about the details in the next chapter. Enjoy this chapter!
I looked at Rachel kind of strange but also serious. What was that whole thing about? "Alright, can we talk instead of keeping silent all day?" I said to catch their attention. "Steph, do you wanna start?" Rachel asked her. Steph took a moment to think but agreed. "Ok, first, you have to know that there weren't any feelings involved." - "You said that already." - "Yes, I know. So... I owe Eliott a shit ton of money, 5 grand to be exact. You know the CD's I burn, right? He says he'll sue me for it if I don't pay the money within 3 weeks. I am already in week 2 of that."
"Wait, why exactly do you owe him such a huge amount?" - "He let me lend some money for drugs. I was about to start a drug business but I failed. A lot of the potential costumers couldn't take me seriously, so they bought their stuff somewhere else. Don't judge me, alright? Drew dragged me kinda into it." - "Holy shit, what the fuck? Okay, continue. I don't judge you at all." - "So, I knew I couldn't pay him back... Rachel can you continue, I don't think I can look Chloe in the eyes while telling her," Steph said to Rachel. Rachel grumbled. "You think I can?? You're lucky that I love this girl." I blushed slightly. Rachel is such a charmer but she always was.
Rachel looked me straight in the eyes. She forced herself to do so. "Steph went to Eliott to ask him if there's another way to pay him off. And he said yes. Steph, of course, wanted to know about it and he told her that if-" her eyes wandered off to somewhere else, maybe to not let me see the hurt. "Rachel, just tell me," I demanded.
"ifStephfindsawaytogetustobreakupthenit'llbefine." - "Uh, I didn't catch anything. Repeat." - "If Steph finds a way to get us to break up then it'll be fine." - "Don't tell me you guys planned this so Steph could get out of trouble." - "That's the point." - "YOU TWO ARE SO STUPID! WHY THE FUCK COULDN'T YOU JUST TELL ME AND I'D HAVE PLAYED ALONG!" I shouted in their faces. I was so pissed at both of them. "Because we'd still meet and text and stuff. That's the second point. Eliott followed me the whole week to check where I was and what I do and if he'd catch us, Steph would owe him the 5 grand. This kid is tough, I thought he'd stay completely out of our lives after I broke his nose." - "He wants me, that's everything, he's like a little kid at the supermarket. Crying until he gets what he wants. He's a psychopath in some way," I explained.
"Chloe, believe me when I say that seeing you hurt because of me was the worst thing I've ever seen. When I said let me explain, I'd have told you everything but Steph hold me back. I smashed my TV out of frustration and punched a big hole in my wall. Just because I knew that I might lose you forever. I fucking love you, Chloe. You know that, right?" - "I don't know what to say. This is some fucked up business. But why exactly do we get into trouble?" - "Oh, I wanted it to sound hella mysterious. The only one who's in trouble is Steph." I flicked my finger onto Rachel's forehead. "Ouch!" - "You deserve that. For being stupid." - "I guess you're right... You forgive me, right?" - "Not so fast. You have to earn my trust back first." Steph growled. "Okaaaay, but can you two please find a way to help me out now?" - "Rach, can't you ask your father?" I said. James has money. "That's not possible. I don't have access to the safe and my dad is away for the whole week, which makes it too late, considering that the 3 weeks are over by then." - "Ugh. We'll figure something out. Don't worry, Steph. By the way, have you seen Eliott?" - "Chloe, no. Don't do anything stupid." - "I'll do it after school. Does he know that I know?" Both of them shrugged. "I'll have to test my luck then. See you later I guess," I said and left them.
But Rachel held me back with her hand. "Could you... could you please take the third bullet off? You haven't lost me." I smiled at her, letting my feelings take over me for a short moment. "I'll see." was all I said before I rushed off.
It kinda felt weird leaving Rach without a kiss but the whole situation wasn't clear at all yet. As much as I wanted to trust her again, some part of me holds me back to do so. I just left the school, not caring about the last lessons. I drove to the junkyard, leaving a text to Eliott.
'Can we talk? I need someone. Meet me at the junkyard, if you know that place.'
I was so ready to kick his butt, hopefully for the last time.
