Birthday.

I woke up uncomfortably by a very someone shaking me and literally jumping on me. "Get off, I'm trying to get some more sleep, beauty." - "Nope, get up, it's ya birthday." I groaned. I actually treat my birthday like every other day. No party and no cake. I like it that way. "You're so grumpy. C'mon, get up!" I had no choice to continue sleeping because Rachel decided to drag me out of the bed. "Ok, ok, I get up."

And there I stood, groggily. Rachel took me into a passionate kiss and rested her forehead against mine after it. "Happy birthday, beautiful." - "Thank you," I smiled. "Since it's ya birthday, I'm gonna bring you breakfast." - "But isn't it 12 am?" Rachel laughed. "Nope, it's actually 6 am." - "Damn, I feel like I haven't slept at all, though!" - "Yeah, you look like it, too." I stuck out my tongue at her, watching her leave the room. So why exactly did I have to get up? I decided to go back into bed since she was bringing me breakfast up here, anyway.

A few moments later Rachel came back with 2 cups of coffee and the mushiest shit I've ever seen. Two toasts in a heart shape. It's cute, though. "Here is your breakfast, my majesty," she bowed while handing me the tablet. "Stop goofing around and get in here already." - "As you command." She's unbelievable. While munching on our toasts, I could see a grin spreading across her face. "What is it?" - "Well, I have a present for you." - "Is it birthday sex?" - "Well, uhhhhm, nope. You have to wait until after school, though." - "Dang it, you know that I hate waiting." - "Oh, believe me, it's so hard to not tell you because I can already imagine your reaction and I've been hiding it for a good week already." - "That doesn't make me feel better at all." - "Wasn't supposed to make you," she winked. Damn it. "I have to meet my mom after school, though. She'll be sad if I don't show up today." - "That's totally fine," she told me.

After our little chit-chat, we had to get ready. And had to go to school. I can't wait until the day we leave Blackhell. Actually, a lot of people gratulated me. That's pretty unusual, so I was kind of overwhelmed.

After school, we both went separate ways. Only a few hours left for that "big surprise". Rachel did a good job on not telling me what it is, unfortunately. But now I was gonna meet my mom. She took a day off, for me. As soon as I opened the door, I was welcomed by a very warm hug only moms can give. "Happy birthday, kiddo." - Thanks, mom." - "I bought something for you. It's nothing big but I thought it's a great idea. It's on the table in the living room."

I immediately went there, not wasting any second. As soon as I realized what it was I stared at my mom with a confused face. It was a book. But not a simple book, it was the Civil Law Code. Next to it laid a 'welcome' mat. "Mom, what is that?" - "That is a mat and the Civil Law Code." - "Yeah, I see that." - "You'll understand later." - "Don't tell me that you're involved with Rachel's present." - "If that's what you want to hear - I'm not involved with Rachel's present. It's a lie, though." - "You guys are killing me." - "I think we know that. But I think you should go now. I see that you're pretty impatient." - "Well, yes." I gave my mom a goodbye hug before I rushed to my truck. Since it's my birthday, I don't care about my appearance. I was decent looking, though, with my, well, Rachel's red flannel.

I think I broke the record when I reached Rachel's house within 5 minutes. I rang the doorbell.
Rose opened the door. "Well, if that isn't the birthday girl. Come in, happy birthday, Chloe." - "Thanks, Rose. I'm not used to getting so many birthday wishes." - "No problem. Rachel is in her room, she'll join us any second. You can already sit down, food is almost ready. James is sitting there already." - "Alright, thank you."

I took my seat and made James look over his newspaper. "Happy birthday, Chloe," he warmly smiled at me. "Thank you." - "Are you excited?" - "Well, yes. And that my mom was involved into this whole thing didn't make it better." - "Any clue maybe?" - "Not at all." - "I knew it was the right choice to make Joyce buy those two things. I actually thought you might guess it, though." - "I'm pretty sure it'll make so much sense when I actually know what it is." He nodded.

Our conversation was interrupted by Rose putting the food on the table. It was nothing fancy, but it'll taste good, I can tell, I mean I really love lasagna. "Don't start without me!" Rachel shouted down the stairs as she ran down. "Wasn't planning on it!" James shouted back. "Present after food," Rachel quoted. I bet everyone could see my eye-rolling, but I dig in, anyway.

The lasagna was actually very good. Nothing compared to my mom's but still. "Alright, everyone will give you a piece of your present. The first parts gave you Joyce already." I nodded and had a really serious but flustered expression on my face. "I'm gonna start," Rachel said. She took out a box and handed it to me. "Open it." I did as I was told. There was a key in the box. "A key? To what?" - "Wait for the other pieces." Next up was Rose. She handed me a paper. But it wasn't just a paper, it was a cheque. "Holy, in the amount of 20,000$!? I can't accept this." Rachel slapped my arm. "Yes, you can. Wait for the last part." What could follow next to top this? It was James' part. He handed me a paper as well, but it was just normal paper. "Read through it." I did so. And the smile on my face just became bigger and bigger with each word. "This is a contract!" I stood up and hugged all three of them. I gave Rachel a big kiss. "Thank you so much. I don't deserve this, I don't deserve people like you at all! But what's with the key, though?" Rachel rolled her eyes. "You're so planless. This is a key to a house. Our house." - "But I already have an extra key for your house?" Rachel gave herself a facepalm. And I could imagine Rose and James do the same, just mentally.

"Ok, I'm not telling you. Read the contract again and look out for the place." I read through it again and I let the paper fall immediately when it hit me. "You're kidding, right?" - "Not at all. We'll have to finish school, which is soon, and then we can go-" - "TO FUCKING LOS ANGELES!" - "Chloe!" - "Oh, uhm, sorry for my language there." Rose and James just laughed. I gave everyone a hug again. "Thank you SO much!" Even a few tears fell. This was just overwhelming. I mean when do you get a house and a contract for a firm job? Right, not every day! "The job offer is for the partner office from my dad. They're searching a new employee for next year. So he thought you'd fit." - "What are you doing then as a job, though?" - "I don't know yet, probably just jobbing around."

James then brought up another paper. "Well, of course, we weren't honest with you. What kind of parents would we be if we would let our own kid just do 'something' in LA?  "Dad, are you kidding me! They are huge!" - "And we think that you'll be a perfect fill in for that spot. I know that your dream career is the model career." I would love to comment on that but it'd be inappropriate. "That's so awesome!" - "Be careful with the cheque, though. It's for furniture, not for spending for fun." James looked at me. "Yes, I know."

After everyone calmed down, at least a bit, we decided to head up to Rachel's room. It was way too late anyway. 12 am already. We immediately cuddled into each other. "I couldn't comment on your model career thing but now I can. I can't wait to see hot pics of you. And you know what's even better? A lot of people can see you in hot poses and stuff but they can't have you. Because you're mine already." - "You know, it actually means a lot to me that you have this attitude on this sensitive topic. I've heard a lot of relationships ended because the partner couldn't take the model career, exactly because everyone can see you doing 'hot' stuff. I know I won't start doing those kinds of pics but I can tell I'll get there. You get a lot of cash for those." - "And I don't blame you. But like I said, you're still mine." - "Not gonna argue about that."

And with that, we shared a deep, passionate kiss before falling asleep.

This was such a huge day. Graduation is in a few months. And then we're off to LA. Wow.

A/N: Hellooo everybody, greetings to the worldstar squad as well, I was planning on updating last week but school kicked my ass yet again. Fortunately, I have 2 weeks of holidays again, so I have time for writing. I got a question, though. Do you guys want a chapter for the whole graduation thing? Or should I straight go to the moving? Let me know! But comment fast, I'll update tmo as well! (And yes, this chapter is based on Chloe's past birthday. I was planning on releasing it on her actual birthday, which was somewhen last week, but couldn't make it.)
