Tweek woke up before his alarm would have had the chance to go off. He got out of bed and went down to the dining room. His parents were making the table, his mother taking out the freshly-made scrambled eggs from the pan, his father making coffee. They noticed him and smiled."Good morning, dear." Tweek's mom greeted him.
"Morning, son." His dad did the same. "Come, eat with us. You ran off so quickly yesterday. Were you late?"
"Morning! I- no! I wasn't! I was just hurrying.. I didn't want to be late. I got there early, actually." Tweek replied nervously. He tried his best not to upset his parents since he got fired and struggled to get another job. He'd always wanted to make them proud, but that never really happened.
"Glad to hear that." His mother sighed happily. All of them sat down at the table, eating in pleasant silence. After a minute, his mother spoke up once again. "How was your first day? Did you do well?"
"It was g-good. They were satisfied with me.. I think. Met with two people." Tweek spoke with a hint of excitement in his voice. "Their names were Charlotte and Craig. Craig's the manager who trains me." Tweek added and continued eating. His parents nodded and hummed with approval and went back to eating as well.
After breakfast, Tweek got prepared and left home. It was 8:05 and as Tweek had already known how long it takes there, he didn't hurry. He got to café Orchid and walked in confidently. He looked around and saw Craig, Lottie and another guy serving some people. They seemed busy, so he felt reluctant to go up to the counter. Luckily, Lottie noticed him and waved him over. He obliged and strolled there, apologizing to the customers.
"Hey Tweek! As you can see, we're busy as hell, but don't worry! Me and Stan can work this out." She smiled and turned back to the guy she was taking the order from. Tweek tried to speak up to ask what he should do, but Craig was faster.
"Hey, we don't have time to laze around. Get dressed and come to the front as soon as you can." He ordered Tweek, who just nodded and ran off to the back.
He changed into his uniform and put his hair into a messy ponytail. He figured it would fit him and he was right. He felt attractive and cute, especially with his black apron. He smiled and hurried back to his coworkers. When he got back he saw that there was only one woman left to be served. Thank god.. He sighed in relief. Craig walked up to him and Tweek could swear he saw him widen his eyes and blush for a second.
"*cough* I-I'd like to introduce you to Stan Marsh. He's been suffering here for a while with us. He is a good worker so you can ask him anything." Craig said. The boy named Stan shook hands with Tweek and smiled warmly, making Tweek smile back unconsciously.
"Hi, welcome to the family."
"H-hi, nice to meet ya." Tweek greeted him back and let go of his new friend. They heard Craig scoff.
"Tsk, family? Really, Marsh?" He chuckled and raised his eyebrows, amused.
"Yeah, man. We know each other really well." He explained. "And Tweek, the ponytail suits you. I'm envious.. I want to have a hair long like that, but I'd look like a shitty emo." He laughed.
"I think the hair you have suits you!" Tweek smiled at Stan. He had short, dark hair, which was cut neatly. It matched with his light blue eyes.
"Thanks. Craig, I like this guy already." Stan grinned.
"Pffft, go back to work or I'll report you slacking off." Craig shook his head, smiling just a tiny bit. "I dunno.. go sweep the floor in the lobby or something." He pointed at a broom. Stan rolled his eyes and brushed past Craig.
"Yes, BOSS." He spat sarcastically.
"Now that we've got rid of the distraction, we can continue training you. You will have to help Charlotte. She will handle the money and I'll help you make the coffee for her. When that annoying fuck finishes with sweeping the floor, he'll have the other cash register, so we'll be fine." Craig explained. Tweek nodded here and there, signalling he got the information.
Tweek's training was going almost perfectly, the orders were simple and not that many people came in, there were two bigger waves, but Stan helped them out. Craig mentioned every important detail the trainee had to know and he understood most of it. The four of them were working efficiently, they helped each other out. It finally came to Tweek's break, but there were many people again.
"Tweek." Craig spoke up while making a cinnamon latte. "It's your break. No need to worry, we're used to this." Tweek didn't bother listening to Craig and helped Lottie as she was having trouble with an iced-coffee.
"Damnit! Stupid coffee machine rinsing NOW??" She punched the coffee machine with force.
"Need help, Lottie?" Tweek asked the frustrated teen.
"Y-yeah.. I do.." She sighed and let Tweek handle the orders. He was fast despite being just a newible. Charlotte and Craig were surprised by his talent for communicating and serving. Once the wave was over, Craig pat Tweek's shoulder.
"Nice one. That was cool. Now go on a break, you deserve it. Speaking of deserving, take a cupcake of your liking" Craig said emotionlessly, but Tweek could tell he was pleased. He nodded and got a strawberry cupcake before heading for break.
The rest of the shift went fine, Craig explained a few more things, such as cleaning and cash register handling. Tweek paid close attention to his tutor and they found themselves joking around and laughing with each other. It soon reached 4PM again, which meant goodbye.
"Come at 8AM tomorrow, I think you'll handle the minus half hour." Craig said calmly, turning the pages in his notepad. "And we'll have a smaller meeting at 8PM tomorrow, if you wanna come, then feel free to." He added with no emotion.
Ooh, will I get to meet the other workers? But.. what if they won't like me? Or I'll be late! I can't handle this! Will they be assholes? I don't know ANYONE!
"Tweek?"
"AGH! WHAT!"
Craig raised his eyebrows from surprise. The shout was so sudden, some people turned their heads towards the two. Stan who was behind the cash register hurried over to them.
"Hey hey hey, is everything okay?" He asked worriedly.
Tweek started nodding rapidly, covering his face to hide the shame and redness.
"Y-yeah, I just overreacted some stupid stuff.. sorry." He mumbled. He looked up from his hands and sighed.
Nice one, Tweek.. calm your tits it's just a meeting with nice people.
"And yeah, I can come at 8AM, I wake up early anyways." He shot a sheepish smile. Stan chuckled.
"Oh man, and I thought something happened.. it's okay Tweek." Stan grinned and walked back to his spot.
Tweek waved goodbye to Stan and Craig. Lottie had already gone home at 2PM, so they said their goodbyes earlier.
This day was okay. Tweek smiled to himself. I hope I won't mess up anything this time, these people make a perfect team..
I hope I'll fit in.
