7:30AMTweek woke up to the obnoxious sound his phone made. He groaned and stopped it, trying to rest a bit. Suddenly, he realized why he had the alarm.
"Oh shit! Work!" He screeched.
After some panicking, he got prepared, drank an energy drink and left at 8:00 sharp. His walking speed was very fast; too scared he'd be late on his first day, Tweek decided not to take the bus. After ten minutes of speed-walking, he finally arrived at the cozy-looking building.
He glanced in and saw two figures behind the counter. A tall, black-haired male, who looked bored. He was cleaning the counter's surface. The other person seemed like a teenager. She was a bit shorter than the guy, but she was still tall considered to other women. Her hair was medium length and looked like the color of an almond. She had a smile on her face, she looked like she enjoyed her job.. not like this guy..
Tweek sighed and decided not to be a creep anymore. He walked in carefully, making the little bell above the door ring. This caught the attention of the two workers. Tweek strolled to their desk nervously.
"Hello!" The girl chimed politely.
"Uh, hey.. It's my first day so I was told to look for this Craig guy.." Tweek smiled lightly. He rubbed his neck and looked at the female shyly. Suddenly, he heard an awkward cough from the other person who was standing behind the cashier-desk.
"That Craig guy is me. You must be Tweek Tweak then." He said calmly. He stopped cleaning and walked next to the female and spoke again. "I'm Craig Tucker and this young lady is Charlotte Miller."
"Oh! Hi! I'm Charlotte, but feel free to call me Lottie" Charlotte smiled warmly. Her way of standing changed, she relaxed after realizing she wasn't talking to a customer.
"Hey! So what will happen now?" Tweek asked.
"As far as I know, you've been shown around already, right?" Craig replied with a question.
"Uh yes, by Andrea. She told me that you would tell me the rest of the stuff I'll need to know.."
Craig rolled his eyes.
"Great. Don't worry, I have no problems with you. It's just the extra pain of tutoring someone that annoys me." He said in a bored tone and walked out from behind the counter. "I'll give you your uniform. As you're new, you'll get that pastel uniform Charlotte is wearing, but with not a skirt and leggings of course." Craig let a small smile appear on his face. Tweek flushed when he imagined himself in a skirt. "Come to the back and we'll get you your size." Tweek nodded and followed the manager.
The day went fine, they got his size and the uniform that was given to him suited him perfectly. Craig progressed to explain things about the coffee shop, a small history lesson, mostly. Then after their chit-chat, they got to the safety and fire-hazard training. In the end, Craig took him to the front and started showing him the menu.
"Okay, you've been doing fine so far. So here's the menu.. coffee and coffee.. oh! And we sell coffee too." Craig's sarcastic voice made the small joke even funnier, making Tweek chuckle. "But aside from that, we sell macarons and cupcakes, which are freshly baked here. We also offer many syrups with the coffee, like Choco, Caramel and Vanilla. Aaaand, we can put whipped cream or sprinkles or even both on their fucking drinks." Craig said with annoyance is his tone.
"You don't like working here, do you?" Tweek asked carefully, earning a harsh glare from the other male.
"No. I hate it here." He rolled his eyes and put the menu on the cupboard. Tweek tilted his head with confusion.
"Then why do you work here?"
Craig sighed and ran his hand through his shiny dark hair. He sighed once more, signalling his frustration.
"I need the money. And if I quit and try to find another job, then I won't get paid this much. I've been here since I was 17. And I'm 22 now. Would be a way too big change for me." His angry expression faded and a sad one overtook Craig's features. Tweek smiled weakly and rubbed Craig's shoulder. The tall male tensed up at the touch, but quickly relaxed, letting Tweek caress him.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked anything." Tweek said while his hand was still on Craig's shoulder.
"It's okay. I've needed to vent for a while now. So.. thanks." The 'manager' replied reassuringly. They smiled at each other, but quickly averted gazes. Tweek and Craig both blushed from embarrassment.
"Uuuh.." Tweek started nervously. "What time am I supposed to uh.. finish?" He glanced at the clock.
"Oh shit! Completely forgot that you're just a trainee." Craig took out his small notepad and started turning pages rapidly. Tweek found the guy absolutely adorable, his sarcastic non-caring side didn't affect him at all. He was definitely looking forward to seeing him again.
"Okay, it's 4PM right now, aand you're supposed to finish at.. 4PM. Cool. You remember everything I told you?"
"Y-yes, I do.. I think???"
"Okay, prepare to use the knowledge for absolutely nothing. Practice is key here, not talk." Craig looked up from the paper, now wearing a bored expression.
Wow, he was saying the truth when he said he hated it here. Tweek thought to himself.
"Your day's over, luckily not many people came here so we covered everything we had to for today. Come tomorrow at the same time, 8:30." He said, monotone. Tweek nodded and waved him and Lottie goodbye.
He went to the lockers and changed into his casual, way more comfortable clothing. He walked out of the building, smiling brightly.
This wasn't that bad and Craig seems really nice... well, not nice, but... he's interesting. Lottie is nice, but.. Craig..? I need to find out more about him.
//Hey! I am having fun with this fic, hope you like it so far! It may move a bit slow with the interactions, but don't worry, it won't be boring<3//
