2:00AM.Tweek laid awake in his bed. He couldn't sleep at all. The previous happenings wouldn't leave him alone. Craig, beating his old bully.. until he passed out. What even happened after Tweek left? Did Craig take him to the hospital or did he just leave the guy to bleed to death..?
He rolled in his bed. And again. And again. He still couldn't get it out of his mind, no matter how much he wanted it to. He wanted it to go back to normal.. when Craig wasn't a violent lunatic..
Tweek gave up on sleeping and unlocked his phone. 10 missed calls, 31 messages..
"Ugh."
Tweek looked through the texts.. all of them were from Craig. He didn't bother reading them, he simply deleted everything. Tweek didn't want to hear from him anymore. After deleting him from his contacts and blocking his number, he put on some Youtube videos to pass the time.
He got hungry eventually, so he walked into the kitchen to eat something small. After putting a sandwich in the microwave, he heard his phone buzz loudly. He didn't want to wake his parents so he picked it up. Before speaking, he looked at the caller ID. It was from the café.
"Yeah, it's Tweek." He said silently.
"Heya!" It was Lottie. "It has been a while since we talked!" She said cheerfully.
"Yeah.. but why do you call me at 2AM?" Tweek asked.
"Um.. okay.. I might have other intentions.."
"Which are?" Tweek questioned. His sandwich was done so he opened the microwave before it beeped. He set his stuff on the table.
"Uhh... the police is kinda here..?" She laughed awkwardly. "You were supposed to have the night shift with me and uh... they were looking for you.."
Tweek spat the sandwich out of his mouth. He walked outside in his pajamas and took a deep breath before shouting:
"WH-WHAT?? I HAVE THE NIGHT SHIFT TONIGHT?"
"Wha-?" Lottie's voice was confused. "You're not worried about the police?"
"I am, but fucking Tucker told me I'm having today off what the hell..." He rolled his eyes. "Unreliable bitch."
"I- I'm gonna hand the phone to the officer now..."
"Good evening, Mr. Tweak, right?" A stern-sounding female spoke into the phone.
"Yeah." He replied.
"I am officer Carter. I need to ask you a few questions. Not co-operating will result in me going to your location, understood?" Her cold voice intimidated the boy.
"Yes, I understand."
"Good. Do you happen to know what happened yesterday morning at about 11 o'clock?"
"Are you talking about Craig beating Gallagher up?" Tweek sighed. He knew playing stupid would be useless.
"What happened exactly?" The officer asked.
"He was driving and he noticed Gallagher I guess.. I previously told him that he used to be my bully and I guess he lost it." Tweek felt himself tear up. The whole thing was way too recent.
"Were you involved in any way?"
"N-no.. I froze first but then I stopped Craig and told him to take the guy to the hospital.." Tweek crouched. All this weight was too heavy for his heart.
"I see. Do you swear that you hadn't encouraged his actions?" The woman asked.
"I swear! I tried to stop him! I know I shouldn't have left but I needed to clear my head.." He started crying softly. "I'm sorry.."
"..." The policewoman didn't say a thing for a minute.
"Okay. Your testimony matches Mr. Tucker's."
Tweek's breath hitched.
"He told us that you weren't involved and your stories match completely. We are going to drop the charges. You are free to sleep now."
"W-wait!" Tweek exclaimed and stood up. "What will happen to Craig?"
"There are three ways it could go down. Depends on Mr. Gallagher's condition. If he'll recover quickly, Craig will either be imprisoned for a short period of time or will have to pay a heavy fine. If he doesn't recover.. well.. then Craig will have to serve a longer sentence." The woman replied.
"H-h-how long?" Tweek asked worriedly.
"..." The woman was silent.
"Please.."
"If Gallagher's body can't take the pressure and he dies.. well.. ten years at least. But a death sentence isn't impossible either." Officer Carter's voice was grim. "Is there anything you wish to tell me about the suspect?"
Tweek lightened up. "Y-yes! In Craig's defense, he is a nice guy and he really cares about me! This has never occurred, Craig is a sweet person.. I know he regrets it.. he lost it but he is not violent.."
"..."
"I'll see what I can do. Thank you, Mr. Tweak. Have a pleasant night."
"Thank you, officer. Goodbye."
They hung up. Tweek dropped the phone on the ground. He was shook. Craig really did confess his crimes and he didn't even involve Tweek in any way. He heard sobs escape his mouth. Crying twice a day.. he had a feeling it wouldn't stop at two.
After crying his eyes out, he picked his phone up and inspected it. The screen-protector shattered but the actual display wasn't harmed. He didn't really care so he put it in his pocket. The door creaked silently as he re-entered his home. He wasn't hungry anymore so he didn't bother eating his sandwich.
Tweek took his way into his bedroom and locked the door behind himself. He fell into his bed, feeling numbness surround him. Everything seemed blurred, his reality had been shattered. He had never expected it to get this serious.. Gallagher has to recover, because if he doesn't.. then Craig could be executed..
He didn't know how to feel about Craig anymore. He used to like him, then fall for him, then despise him, but now.. He defended him with all his heart. Why? Was there a reason? Did he still feel the same way?
"I need to sleep.." Tweek rubbed his puffy eyes. His life had never been calm, so why would this time be any different? His hopes to have a normal, calm life seemed to fade away into blackness.
He felt empty. He didn't look forward to his morning, nor his next week, nor his future. He had nothing to look forward to.
"I want this to end.. please.. if it doesn't end.. I'll... I'll end it myself." He choked out.
