Jammie's pov

I wake up with a knot in my back. I can not deal with this anymore. I look at roc and see him awake just looking at the car roof.

"Baby as much as I love sleeping in this old raggedy uncomfortable car.."

"I know Jammie. We need a place."

It gets silent like both of us are trying to figure out what to do or say next.

"Maybe we should go back to your aunt's and ask her for forgiveness."

"No jammie I will never- wait that reminds me.The note that my mom gave me from my dad."

"You haven't read it yet?"

"Nope"

"Well open it "

He slowly opens the envelope to have 100 dollars in cash fall out.He takes the cash and puts it on my lap. He takes out a letter and starts reading out loud.

Dear chresanto,

Look I know you probably hate me right now.But I am sorry for my actions.Trust me that night I had every intent on coming home. I promise I did. But I started to deal weed.I made my only little workshop in a old warehouse.I did that to get some extra money for you and the house.But I got hooked.I started to have people work for me and I didn't want you and your mom to get hurt in the business.I mean I sometimes would come and see how y'all was doing and she seemed perfectly happy with You ,Ella ,and Daniel. Intill I heard about Daniel's death. The people who killed him were getting me back because I didn't give him what he wanted. That's why I didn't want to be there.But even with me not here I still got one of my kids killed. I gave ella a letter also and I talked to that mother of yours. She sure has changed. I would love to talk to you about everything sometime. But you can come when your ready. If your ever in need or in need of a place to crash or just someone to vent to your dad is always here.I am sorry chres.You will always be my son and I will always love you. His eyes started to water up.

"Wow he actually cares about me."

Roc's pov

I cant believe this. All my life i hated my dad for leaving. I guess he wanted to protect us. But he is the reason for daniel's death. But I have no one else. The rest of family is in Virgina and I dont have enough gas money or navigation system to get there.

I need to go visit my dad.

"Jammie were gonna go live with my dad"

"Are you sure about this"

"Yes"

We silently make our way to my dad's house.

Jammie's pov

Once we got the house we seen this big mansion. It was so beautiful. It was white all over and had a pretty glass windows.

"Dang" roc said

We got our suitcases out the trunk and walked up the stairs to the door. Roc hesitated and then knocked on the door. This light skinned man with pretty wavy hair and green eyes opened the door. He was tall and slim. He had little wrinkles and some grey in his hair. But he still looked really good for his age. Now I can believe that this is roc's dad. He looks just like him.
