~(Y/n)'s POV~
I stared, amazed at the sight before me. A chocobo with raven feathers that matched Noctis' hair was sitting in my chair. The guys realized I was staring and explained it was definitely my boyfriend. "H-How?!" I shout.
"We are unsure ourselves," Ignis replies. I sigh and pick up chocobo Noctis and set him down gently on the ground. I sat in my chair and was about to pull out my phone until the raven feathered chocobo hopped onto my lap. Noctis curled up in my lap and fell asleep in seconds. "Even in this form you're still sleepy as ever."
Prompto pulled out his camera and snapped a shot of Noctis sleeping in my lap. "How long do you think he'll be like that?"
"Hopefully, only a few hours," Ignis responds.
Gladio crosses his arms as he leans back in his chair. "He should stay that way forever. Easier to manage if he does."
Noctis heard the shield and jumped from his sleep. The chocobo chick hopped from my lap and squawked obnoxiously before charging at Gladio. The man was unfazed as Noctis began pecking at his shoes and pants. The brute chuckled deeply as he picked up the prince with one hand and stared into his sapphire irises. "Nice try, pipsqueak. Go back to your girlfriend before I turn you into a skewer."
"Gladio!" I scold, glaring at the man. Noctis scrambles away from him and returns to my lap, shaking like a leaf. I pick him up and hold him close to my chest, burying my face in his soft plumage. "It's alright, sweetheart. I won't let him turn you into dinner." Noctis nuzzles his head under my chin with a chirp, making me giggle lightly at the ticklish sensation.
After calming him down, he finally falls into a deep sleep. A faint whistle came from his nostrils as he breathed deeply in his slumber. I smile down at him and stroke his back gingerly as he slept.
"So, what're we gonna do? We can't take Noct out like this," Prompto said, gesturing to the chick in my lap.
"As long as (Y/n)'s here, he should be fine," Gladio said.
"Indeed. Will you be alright on your own?" Ignis asked.
"I'll be fine. You three go ahead and return the dog tags to Dave. I'll keep Prince Chocobo company."
"Understood. Call if anything comes up," Ignis said before he, Prompto, and Gladio departed in the Regalia. With the other boys gone, I remove Noctis from my lap and lay him down in my chair gently, making sure not to wake him. I searched the tent for my book and found it next to my pillow.
When I exited the tent, I couldn't find Noctis anywhere. "Noct?" Searching the camp, I was only able to find a single raven colored feather. It laid next to an energy deposit at the base of the haven. "Noctis!" I shout, worry blossoming in my chest painfully.
Then, I heard loud frantic chirping to my right. I snap my head to see it was Noctis, but I quickly took chase when I saw he was being surrounded by sabertusks. Before one of them could pounce on him, I quickly summoned my sword and ran it through its head. The other three monsters proved to be no issue and I disposed of them within seconds. Dispelling my blade, I turn and glare at Noctis. "What were you thinking?!"
The chocobo chick flinches at my loud tone, making me regret raising my voice. I pinch the bridge of my nose with a sigh. "Noct, you can't go around and pick fights while you're stuck like this. The monsters will kill you easily!"
The chocobo prince's body was shaking as he tried to approach me. Seeing his weak and shaky steps, I scoop him up in my arms and head back to the haven.
Back at the campsite, I enter the tent and sit Noctis down. Before I could leave, he hopped in my lap and pinned me to the ground. Sighing, I gave into his cuteness and scratched the top of his head. He chirped softly at my ministrations and puffed out his feathers in ecstasy. I smiled at the bird in my lap, picked him up, and sat him down next to me as I laid on my side. Noctis closed the space between us and nuzzled his fluffy body against my chest. His feathers tickled a little, but I don't try to push him away. Then, he closes his eyes and fell into a deep sleep. Smiling, I soon fell asleep along with the prince.
~3rd Person POV~
"How do you think (Y/n) handled Noct while we were gone?" Prompto asked as they exited the Regalia.
"Knowing her, she probably had no issues with him," Gladio replies.
"She is more than capable of handling His Highness by herself," Ignis said.
When they reached the campsite, they didn't spot either (Y/n) or Noctis. Worried, the three boys searched the entire haven. Checking the tent last, they all sighed and grinned at the sight. Noctis had turned back to his normal self and had an arm wrapped around (Y/n)'s waist as they both slept.
"Aw, they're so cute together!" Prompto cooed. He quickly pulled out his camera and snapped a picture to show them how they looked when they woke up.
Gladio chuckles deeply, his grin replaced with a smile. "We had nothin' to worry about."
Ignis nods in agreement. "Indeed."
