~3rd Person POV~Ever since arriving in Lestallum to see Iris and (Y/n), Gladio hadn't been able to talk to his girlfriend. Whenever she saw him approaching, (Y/n) always fled in a hurry with a melancholic expression on her face. Gladio tried to stop her numerous of times, but he was overpowered by his little sister. He picked up on Iris' strange behavior, but he decided to ignore it for now.
Now in the market, Gladio was looking for Ignis, but he found (Y/n) instead. She was fumbling through different fruits and vegetables at one of the stalls, deep in thought as she examined them closely with furrowed brows. Carefully and quietly, Gladio approached the girl and called out her name. He watched as her body stiffened and refused to face him.
Anger bubbles within him, trying his best to keep it at bay. "What the hell is up with you? Ever since I got here, you've been avoiding me like I carry some damn plague."
(Y/n) kept her back to him as she answered him. "N-Nothing's wrong. It's just... I have to go." She was ready to storm off, but the shield grabbed her by the arm to restrain her. "Let me go, Gladio," she demands.
"Not until you tell me what's wrong." His grip on her arm tightened, earning a wince from the young girl. She tried to pry his hand off her arm, but it was useless against his strength. He pulled her back and away from the stall. "Talk. Now." The anger was pushing through the surface, Gladio unable to control it any further.
"G-Gladio, you're hurting me," she whines while still trying to break free.
"I'm not letting you go until you tell me what's wrong!" He shouts, his grip straining against her arm. Tears welled up in her eyes at the pain of his death grip.
"Let me go!" She shouts. "It hurts!"
Blinded by anger, he ignored her shouts until someone pried his hand off of her. "Let her go!" Prompto shouts as he pulls (Y/n) away from him. Noctis and Iris stood in front of the brute while the blonde examined her arm.
"What is the matter with you?!" Iris snaps, her anger flaring. Gladio said nothing as he stared down at his little sister. Iris sighed in frustration, giving Noctis and Prompto her full attention. "Can you both take (Y/n) back to the Leville?"
"Yeah, we'll have Specs check out her arm," Noctis said. Before he and Prompto were out of sight, the cameraman sent a harsh glare over his shoulder at Gladio. Iris then turned back to her brother, her disbelief at his behavior apparent. "Why would you do something like that?!"
"How else was I supposed to get a damn answer? Ever since we arrived in town, she's been avoiding me and no one has told me why!"
Iris placed a hand on her head, looking down dejectedly. "No wonder why she thought such a thing..."
"Iris, you know what's wrong with her. Tell me so I can help her!"
"She's pregnant, you idiot!"
Gladio froze, his eyes wide in pure shock. The anger inside him dissipated as he was finally able to see his mistake. Iris noticed, her eyes boring into his. "The reason she didn't tell you was because she was afraid you would abandon her. Now I know why she didn't tell you. She was afraid you would act exactly like this."
Pacing back and forth, Gladio ran a hand through his hair, regretting everything he did to her. "Dammit..."
"Gladdy, go make this right. I can tell just by how much you love her, you would never leave her. Just... keep your anger in check or you'll lose her forever."
Gladio dashes to the Leville, leaving Iris in the marketplace. Reaching (Y/n)'s room, he was stopped by Noctis and Prompto. Taking deep breaths, he kept himself calm. "I need to see (Y/n)."
"You plan on yelling at her again?" Prompto vehemently questioned.
Gladio didn't blame them for being mad at him. They had every right, especially when he let anger blind him and hurt (Y/n). "No, I'm gonna make this right."
Noctis nods, hearing the sincerity in his tone. "Go on in."
Slowly, Gladio entered the room and closed the door behind him. (Y/n)'s back was facing him as she sat on the bed. She was holding a small ice pack where he had grabbed her.
As he cautiously approached, she said nothing. When Gladio reached her, he kneeled before her and took her hand in his. "Iris told me everything."
(Y/n)'s lip quivered as tears cascaded down her cheeks. Gladio's heart shattered at the sight of her tears. She lowered her head, staring down at her feet. "I-I know I shouldn't have avoided you. I should've told you the moment you got here. I jumped to conclusions out of fear."
Gladio moves his hands to her face, cupping her cheeks and making her meet his gaze. "I'm not good at apologies, but... Gods, I'm sorry for what I did to you. I was blinded by rage and hurt you. I don't blame you for being scared." He gingerly wiped her tears as they began to slow down. "And I want you to know I would never leave you. You're too damn important to me."
"Does... Does this mean you won't abandon me and our child?"
"I'd never abandon either of you."
Dropping the ice pack, (Y/n) wrapped her arms around his neck in a warm embrace. Gladio snaked his arms around her waist, pulling her flush against his body. They both fell into a relaxing silence as Gladio laid on the bed with (Y/n), her head resting on his chest with his fingers threaded through her (h/c) locks.
She nuzzled closer to him with a content sigh. "Y'know, you're not that bad at apologies."
Gladio's chest rumbled with laughter. "Could you pass that along to the others?"
(Y/n) laughs and closes her eyes. "Gladly."
