~(Y/n)'s POV~

Sitting in my chair, I get comfortable in front of the fire. Gladio was reading while Noctis and Prompto were playing on their phones. Ignis, on the other hand, was pulling ingredients out and debating which dish to make. Seeing he was having difficulty choosing, I stood up and walked over to him. "Need some help?"

"I would most appreciate it, (Y/n)," he smiled gently.

"Still debating which dish to create?" I grin.

"Yes, most troublesome, indeed," he sighs.

"We know Noct hates vegetables, which is a pain because the only dishes we can make will have to be centered around them. We don't have enough meat."

"An error upon my part. I failed in remembering to purchase meat," Ignis sighs with closed eyes.

"Don't blame yourself, Iggy. Everyone forgets something while shopping. Let's make the veggie medley stew. His Highness will have to deal with his daemons tonight," I snicker.

Ignis chuckled lightly at my comment. "Indeed, he will."

We grab a Leiden potato, funguar, and sheep milk for the meal. I handled cutting while Ignis melded the ingredients in a pot and stirred the stew thoroughly. As we stood side by side, an idea struck me. "Once the stew's done, how about we make some pudding? I do have the ingredients in my bag."

"My dear, you are spoiling them," Ignis said.

"You mean 'us'. I know how much you love my pudding. After all, I add a special ingredient that gives it such a rich flavor."

The royal advisor ceased stirring, giving me his full attention. I sent him a smirk, knowing he would break any second. Finally, he wasn't able to hold himself back any longer. "Alright. After the stew, we shall have dessert."

I poke his cheek, my smirk morphing into a soft smile. "Knew you couldn't deny my pudding. I know your weakness, sweetheart."

Ignis smirked and grabbed the hand I had poked his cheek with. He placed a gentle kiss atop my hand. "It seems so. How may I be of service?"

"Since you're much better with a knife than myself, I want you to cut the chocolate into small pieces. "I'll go get the remaining ingredients."

I headed to my secret stash of ingredients and grabbed sugar, cornstarch, butter, and vanilla. From the cooler, I pulled out a couple bottles of milk and then headed back. Setting the ingredients down, I realized Ignis had finished cutting up the chocolate I had provided him.

"Now," I place my hands on his chest, "You go and sit down with the others."

Ignis placed his hands over mine. "Must you do this alone?"

"If you help, you'll learn my secret recipe," I pout.

"I may remember much, but I will allow your 'secret' recipe to remain one. Allow me to stir the ingredients."

I sigh, giving in. "Alright, Iggy. You win. I'll let you slave over the hot flames of the stove."

I measured out the ingredients and poured them into the pot. As I added a new ingredient, Ignis would stir it thoroughly. Once I added the last drop of milk, I told him to keep stirring until the pudding would thicken.

Continuing to stir without complaining, Ignis watched as I added the small pieces of chocolate to the pot. "There. Once it's thick, take it off and allow it to cool down. Since we don't have a fridge to let it cool, it may be a little soupy, but it shouldn't be too bad."

When I tried to walk away, Ignis snaked his free arm around my waist and pulled me into his side as he stirred. I laughed at his sudden actions and decided to stay by his side until the pudding was done.

After five minutes, the pudding was thick and Ignis pulled the pot off the stove. As he cleaned up the chocolatey mess, I portioned the puddings into bowls. Ignis handed the boys their dinner while I passed out dessert. "Is this what I think this is?" Prompto asked excitedly, pointing to the pudding.

"Yes, Prompto. It's pudding," I said. "But you have to eat your dinner first."

Ignis and I sat next to each other and enjoyed the stew. When I was about to take another bite, I heard Noctis groan in disgust. "It's vegetable stew..."

"I can always take your pudding away, Noct," I respond sternly.

"Please, don't," the prince begs.

"Then you better eat your stew."

Ignis and I watched in amusement as Noctis grimaced with every sip of his stew. When a piece of potato floated to the surface, another groan of disdain escaped the prince. I bursted into laughter as he pushed the small vegetable around in the broth, glaring daggers at it. Ignis simply smiled, containing his laughter like the expert he was.

As the rest of us were finishing dessert, Noctis finally finished his stew and scarfed down the pudding. I couldn't help but smile at the sight.

"Gotta admit, when you and Iggy cook, (Y/n), it's better than one of you cooking," Prompto compliments, rubbing his full stomach. "You should do it more often."

"Love works wonders," Gladio chuckled.

After dinner, Ignis and I cleaned up while the others crawled into the tent. Since the trio was out of hearing range, the two of us started a contest. Whoever came up with the cheesiest joke wins. The round lasted for an hour before my sides were hurting from all the laughing. His final joke was: what do you call a fake noodle? An impasta. "You win, Iggy. I can't even top that."

"I do have a few more, but I shall preserve them for next time."

I placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. "I look forward to hearing them."
