A/n: Another request from capricorn97_otaku. I chose Gladio for this one shot because I have an overwhelming amount of Noctis, Prompto, and Ignis requests. Love you all!!!

••••••••••••••••
~(Y/n)'s POV~"This is the fourth time in the last hour! Don't they have anything better to do?!" I shout in frustration as another airship flies towards us. We were helping Sania by gathering frogs in the Alstor Slough when the imperials kept sending ship after ship.
"Can't handle 'em all, buttercup?" Gladio asked with a smirk.
"Oh, please. These bastards are easy to take down. It's just their persistency is annoying. Guess the empire doesn't know when to give up," I groan.
"Can't agree more," Noctis said.
"Most nettlesome, indeed," Ignis stated, summoning his daggers.
The airship opens it hatch, revealing magiteks and soldiers. Counting their numbers, I realized there are two times more than the previous airships combined. "That's a lotta enemies..." Prompto nervously murmured.
"We've never fought this many before," the shield exclaims. "Should we retreat?"
"We can handle 'em." Noctis conjured a javelin and warped into battle.
I called upon my bow and fired an arrow just as a magitek stumbled my way. Due to our long-ranged weapons, Prompto and I stood in the back while the others attacked head-on. With the larger amount of enemies, many of them passed the trio and targeted me and the sharpshooter.
From the corner of my eye, I saw a single magitek closing in on Prompto. The blonde didn't see the enemy for he was too focused on the ones that were targeting his front. The moment it went to stab him, I jumped in the sword's path and felt a searing pain in my abdomen. With the strength I had left, I fired an arrow and killed the magitek. I felt the blade slide out of my abdomen as its body collapsed to the ground. I pressed a hand on the injury, trying to stop the blood as I searched for any potions. The moment I found a curative, that's when my vision failed and my entire world went dark.
~3rd Person POV~
Prompto searched around the battlefield for (Y/n) when she suddenly was no longer by his side. "(Y/n)?" He called out. Turning his body completely around, he found the girl on the ground, blood pouring from her abdomen. He gasped and ran over to her, noticing the potion she was about to use roll out of her hand. Not knowing what to do, the blonde shouted to the others just as they finished the last imperial. "Guys!"
They snapped their bodies towards the fearful shout. Peering past Prompto, Gladio saw the bloodied body of (Y/n). His amber eyes widened as he stormed over and slid to his knees next to her. He pulled her head in his lap and picked up the potion. "What happened?" He asked.
"I-I don't know. I-I found her like this."
Gladio crushes the potion over her body. The small curative was only enough to close a small portion of the wound. He checked his pockets for any other curatives, but he had used them all. "Noct!"
The prince was able to supply the shield with a phoenix down and another potion. Gladio pressed the feather in (Y/n)'s hand and watched as it burned brightly. He looked down to the wound and saw it was mostly healed and the waterfall of crimson ceased. Finally, he used the potion to counter her pain. Gladio ran a hand through her (h/c) locks as he stared at her sealed eyes. "C'mon, baby doll. Open your eyes."
Suddenly, (Y/n)'s eyes flew open and she broke out into a coughing fit. Gladio sighed in relief, supporting her body as air returned to her lungs. She quickly glanced down to her abdomen and saw the injury was completely healed. "Oh, hey. Would ya look at that."
Gladio huffed with laughter. "That's the first thing you say after almost dying?"
"Hey, I put my life in your hands and look at me now. Now I'm exhausted. Getting stabbed sure does wear you out," she sighs, pressing a hand to her forehead.
"I do believe that is from the significant amount of blood loss, (Y/n)," Ignis stated.
"I am dizzy, but I'll be fine," she confesses.
Gladio saw she was trying to get up and walk on her own, but he wasn't having it. "Like hell I'm gonna let you walk like that." He scooped her up in his arms and saw her eyes widen a fraction.
"Y'know, you could just sling my arm around your neck like a normal person and let me walk like that," she pouts.
"You're too damn short for that. Stop complainin' and just relax."
(Y/n) crosses her arms, pursing her lips. Gladio smiled and placed a kiss on her forehead. He watched as her pout was replaced by the beautiful smile he fell in love with. "You're pretty stubborn for someone who just got stabbed."
"Like I said-I'm just dizzy. The wound's gone and I'll be fine. Stop worrying so much," she huffs.
"You're seriously an idiot if you think I'm gonna stop worryin' about you anytime soon, (Y/n)."
"Well then, I guess we're both stubborn. No wonder why we're dating each other," she remarks with a snort of laughter.
"Stubborn woman," he teases.
She grins. "Stubborn man."
