~3rd Person POV~

"Guys, look at this!" Prompto squealed as he ran over to a poster on a wall near the eatery. The others followed in confusion and curiosity, wishing to see what had the blonde so excited all of a sudden. "Look! Look! Look!"

"We're looking, pipsqueak. What's it about?" Gladio asked.

"There's a performance tonight! Can we go and see it?" Prompto inquired, bouncing on his heels.

"I don't see why not. We could use a small distraction," Noctis said.

"Yes!"

Ignis peered past the blonde and searched the poster. "A young woman by the name of (Y/n) shall be performing this evening."

A bell rang in the shield's head. "Why does that sound familiar?"

"She used to perform in Insomnia. Noct and and I went to see her once. Glad to see she escaped the city. According to this, she's been goin' around Lucis and performing for free," Prompto replied.

Noctis sighed, "I wonder if she'll remember us?"

"You seriously think a singer is gonna remember your ass out of all her fans?" Gladio asked with furrowed brows.

"About that..." Prompto trailed off before he continued. "(Y/n) used to be our friend in high school. After graduation, she started her singing career and she gave us tickets to her first concert. You've met her once, big guy."

"When? I don't remember meeting any of your other high school friends," the brute remarks.

"She was the young lady we met at the café as requested by Noct. We had breakfast with her," Ignis said.

Remembering back, Gladio saw a girl with (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes. She sat across from him as they ate. He returned to reality and sighed, "How the hell did I forget that?"

"Don't know, but that was the only time you guys ever met. After that, she rarely even had time to see me and Noct," Prompto said.

The royal advisor fixed his glasses. "She had quite a convoluted schedule at the time."

Gladio sighed in disbelief as he completely forgot about (Y/n) until this very moment. Noctis and Prompto were still exuberant as they talked about their old friend. Ignis examined the poster once more. "It seems (Y/n) will perform at six."

"Guess we got some time to waste 'til then," Gladio stated.

"I'm starvin'. Let's go eat!" Prompto announces.

Noctis couldn't agree more as he felt his stomach rumble. "Me, too. Let's go."

When six o'clock rolled around after hours of walking around Lestallum, the boys headed to the main road to watch (Y/n)'s performance. Arriving just in time, they watched as (Y/n) introduced herself in a beautiful dress. After her small address, she took the microphone and sang.

(A/n: Insert whatever song you want. Wattpad's being mean and I can't even share the image of the dress I wanted to show y'all😥. Not even the media box is working for me!)

As her voice carried throughout all of Lestallum, Prompto cheered loudly for (Y/n). The others smiled as they watched the girl serenade the populous of the city.

After her performance, she sent everyone a smile and left the area. From the corner of his eye, Gladio saw her walking towards the outlook. He weaved through the crowd, following her and ignoring the shouts from his friends.

At the outlook, Gladio found (Y/n) leaning against the stone railing and staring at the Disc of Cauthess. Her (h/c) locks fluttered in the wind, accompanied by her dress. She sighed before turning to face him. "I knew someone was following me. Didn't know it was you, Gladio."

He chuckled lightly. "So, you do remember me."

"How could I not? You tried flirting with me the first time we met," she giggled.

"... I did?"

"Yes, you did. I thought you were just messing with me and I flirted back. Guess you're the one with a foggy memory."

He smirked, remembering exactly what he said. "Whatever you say, buttercup."

"Ah! That's what you called me! You do remember!" She snorts with laughter as she called him out. (Y/n) smiled as she replayed the memory in her head.

"Hey, (Y/n)!" She jolted slightly at the loud shout as Noctis, Prompto, and Ignis appeared. Prompto had been the one to yell her name. "Do you remember the rest of us?"

"Of course, goofball. You and Noct were my best friends in high school. I may have only met Ignis once, but he sure did make quite a first impression." Her words made the strategist laugh a little.

"We're glad to see you made it safely out of Insomnia," Noctis said.

"It was close, but I had help from a few Kingsglaive members. They escorted me out of the city and to Lestallum. Since then, I've been visiting outposts and towns, singing for free to put smiles on people's faces."

"An admirable feat," Ignis compliments.

"I'm surprised to see you four again. I thought you would've already reached Altissia by now. Guess things haven't been easy on your end, either."

After a long chat, the boys decided to let (Y/n) relax without them bothering her. She insisted they weren't a bother, but they knew she was tired from her performance. Everyone except Gladio walked back to the Leville for the night. The shield decided to stay with (Y/n) since he didn't want her to be alone.

The two sat down on a nearby bench and talked for another hour before (Y/n) stood up abruptly. She brushed off her dress and smiled at Gladio. "It was nice seeing you again, Gladio. I feel like I'm hogging you from the others."

"Seriously doubt it. We've been travelin' together for a month. They get plenty of time with me already."

"In that case, how about dinner tomorrow night—just you and me?" She offered.

Gladio smiled, "No way I'd let this chance pass by. It's a date."

"Great! Then, I'll see you tomorrow." (Y/n) kissed him on the cheek. "Goodnight, Gladio."
