"I feel comfortable around him," I sip my now watered down drink and swoosh the melted ice around the glass. I see everyone wait for me to continue.
"We kissed a lot, talked about his career and insecurities. I think that got us really close." I smirk and I could tell they all think they know what happened.
"So y'all fucked?" Ian buds in and everyone bursts out laughing. "I helped him write a song, he says I have a pretty singing voice."
"Oh honey, I hear you in the shower all the time, he's lying." Kate jokes and I stick my tongue out at her.
Our waiter brought us another round of drinks and a tray of nachos. Since we go out occasionally we don't really care how big the bill is when the evening ends. We just like to listen to each other vent about the real world as we get lost in appetizers and alcohol.
Makayla dove right into the chips and we all laughed; she told us Sebastian was on his way.
"So you're dating him now?" Kate asks and my best friend and I look at each other. Ian looks away and I playfully roll my eyes looking at Cassidy sip her drink, minding her business.
"Yeah, I guess. Brian set us up two weeks ago, he took me out 3 times already. We haven't kissed yet, I don't know."
I nodded my head, smiling at Makayla sitting next to me. Her hazel eyes shined when she talked about Sebastian. Kate gives me a look and now I'm shrugging, wishing I was everywhere but here.

"I already posted a pic, what if people see us?" I ask Shawn, taking his hand in mine as we walk along the boardwalk.
"Who cares? You're friendly, I like you, you're my friend. They'll like you too." He stutters and I laugh, why does he get so shy? "Okay." I softly say smiling.
California is so hot, why haven't I been here before? If I knew I'd get sun kissed skin and a lovely boyfriend I would've moved here when I graduated high school.
Shawn set the blanket down on the hot sand, I took my sandals off and wiggled my purple painted toes into the sand. "The Earth is giving my feet a hug," I joke and Shawn looks at me like I have five heads.
"You're so weird."
"You just said you liked me, you like weird girls then, Mendes." Shawn chuckles, turning away to stare at the ocean.
"You see that line where the sky meets the sea?" Shawn points and I nod. "That's the horizon."
"It's like heaven touched Earth." I say and Shawn smiles looking back at the sea.
He then takes his shirt off and giggles when he catches me staring. "My followers have grown a bit in the last couple days, you think my cousin has something to do with that?" I lift my sundress over my head and look down at the floral bathing suit I just bought yesterday.
It fits me well.
"Well, you're whole feed has been us recently, people are waiting for a confirmation or denial."
"For what?" I ask and Shawn turns to face me. "Why can't we just have fun hanging out, just the two of us? We're friends."
Shawn moves himself up and closer to me, smirking before kissing my lips for a second. "Friends who do that." He points out and I blush covering my face with a beach towel.
"I let what everyone thought of me consume my life for years, I always said it didn't bother me but we all know it did." I start, looking at all my best friends nod their heads and wait for me to finish.
