There's a girl who lives on Rue de la Baume, in a tiny apartment in the attic, stuffed with crumpled clothes, music magazines, instruments and cords from the recording equipment snaking over it all. She spends her nights writing songs, her days - studying, teaching and playing music, her weekends - recording songs that she writes at nights.

Her suits are of absurd color and her makeup is over-the-top - although she wears them mostly for her shows at nightclubs and local festivals. She demands a single item before she goes onstage - a can of warm soda.
Sometimes, her roommate joins her to sing and play along. Sometimes, she's backing his shows, with just as small, but loyal audience.

Every Monday and Friday, her little fan comes over for an ukulele lesson. Her student is a smart girl, and learns fast, even though it means getting a little bit lazy at times. She hopes to take her to the stage soon - just like a coach of her own once projected his dreams on her, she remembers how much she wished to perform as a kid.

As for educating herself, things finally seem to go her way: last month, she applied for music academy again. Yesterday, she got a response - she's in, at last.

And every morning that she wakes up in the most beautiful city in the world, knowing that today she will be doing things she loves and does better than everything else, she knows that she is, well, happy.
The only thing that would make her life perfect is the presence of Mika, but now with his new album on the way, a big tour and another season of the Voice, they talk not as often as she would like. But she's sure that it's only a question of time. After all, if she knows anything about her life, it's that her karma likes to make surprises, and she just can't help feeling like there's another one waiting right ahead.
