~Zack's POV~

I stare out the window of the car, watching everything pass by. "I'm worried about Kaitlynne. She was really upset about me going." I told Mason, tearing my eyes away from the window to look at him. He glanced at me for second before turning his eyes back to the road.

"I noticed, look she'll be fine. You should be worried about your self. Stop thinking about it and get your head in the game before you get yourself killed." He told me. His words may seem harsh at times but he is pretty wise. Ya know, for a 40 year old man.

I nodded and turned my head to stare at the road ahead. I could see the store up ahead.

He parked the car right next to the entrance like he always does. 'If Kaitlynne knew how often we did this, she would kill me.' I thought as I got out of the car. "Remember just get what you can, and make as little noise as possible. At least until we know we are alone." Mason told me as he always does. I nodded and pulled out my knife.

We walked through the door, weapons drawn. "Come on, we ain't got all day." Mason said as he disappeared down an aisle. I walked slowly to the food aisle making little noise. I grabbed all that was left on the shelves when suddenly I heard a crash from the other side of the store. "Mason?!" I yelled. I turned around to go run to him when I saw the source of the crash. About 10 walkers were in front of me. "MASON!" I screamed again, turning around and running down the aisle. "WE GOTTA GO." I yelled again. "NOW!" I added.

As I was running I was about to exit the aisle when Mason popped up in front of me. "GO!" I yelled as he turned around. I ran behind him as we made our way to the front of the store. We were almost out the door when I felt a tug on my arm. Cold fingers wrapped around my wrist.

"Zack!" Mason yelled. I stabbed the walker in the head.

"Keep going!" I yelled to him. He disappeared out the door.

I went to run again but a walker grabbed my ankle. I felt a pain in my leg where he grabbed me as I fell to the ground. I hit my elbow on the tile and felt hot liquid run down my arm. I kicked the walker in the head repeatedly trying to get away before the others got to us. The walkers kept getting closer and closer as I tried to keep it from biting me. 'Desperate times call for desperate measures.' I thought as I pulled out my gun.

I pointed it at the walkers head. Just as it was about to bite me I pulled the trigger. It fell limp to the ground. I tried to stand but when I did a sharp pain went up the leg the walker had grabbed and I fell back down. I flipped over on my back and shot the closest walker to me. I stood up again but this time more careful.

I ran/limped out the front door and pulled the passenger door and hopped in. "Are you ok-" Mason started.

"Drive!" I yelled at him when the first walker exited the store. He started the engine and it roared to life as he pulled away from the store. We didn't say a single word as we headed back to camp.

'I can't believe this...' I thought as I stared down at my ankle. 'I can't believe I was scratched.......'

~Kaitlynne's POV~

I sat on the window sill looking out at the back yard when I heard the rumble of an engine. I shot to my feet and ran out the front door, just as Zack exited the car. I ran to him and tried to hug him but he moved away from me and limped back to the house and slammed the door behind him.

"What happened?" I asked Mason, turning to face him.

"We were jumped at the store. It was a close call..." He said opening the back door of the car and pulled out a duffle bag. I muttered a small 'Oh' as he followed Zack into the house. Everyone that was outside went in and I followed them. When I walked in I heard the bedroom door slam shut.
