~Kaitlynne's POV~

I sat there, just staring. Staring at the fire Bri had build only minutes before. I didn't eat any of the little food we had left. I just sat there staring at the flame, my mind blank, my heart void of all emotion.

"Kaitlynne?" Bri's voice called from somewhere. I didn't bother to look. I didn't care. Not anymore. "Are you ok?" Ok. That just pissed me off.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'ARE YOU OK' ?!" I yelled at her. She shrunk back at my large voice. I kept screaming, not caring if I attracted all the dead. "OF COURSE IM NOT OK! I NEVER HAVE BEEN!!! NOT BEFORE! AND NOT AFTER!!! EVERYONE IS GONE!!! DONT YOU UNDERSTAND THAT!?" I kept yelling, but my voice was a whisper when I finished my rant. "They're all... gone..."

"Kaitlynne..." Bri said sadly. She opened her mouth to speak but suddenly a rustle in the bushes alerted us of passing walkers. I put out the fire and grabbed two of the bags. Bri grabbed the other one.

Next thing ya know. We're on the run again.

-Wyatt's POV~

I feel like shit. I've never felt like this before. My stomach hurts, my head hurts, I can't keep any food down, and I'm sore all over. And to top it off, I'm flooded with guilt.

"How you holding up?" Daryl asked. I looked at him sideways. I sighed and leaned my head back, closing my eyes. I opened them again and began to answer.

"Not good... what if they're all dead? What if we could have helped them? And I just ran away like a coward..." I said solemnly. He gave me an angry glare.

"Don't even start that. We both ran. It's on both of us. But we'll find them. They can take care of themselves Wyatt. She can." He said. I know who he meant by she. "She's strong. They both are."

"I know... I'm just worried is all... What if we don't? What if we don't find them?" I said. He sighed and stood up.

"Then I guess it's time to start looking."

~Carson's POV~

"Sam?" I asked the girl who was seated beside me with a little boy in her arms. She nodded for me to continue. "Your like, 15 right?" She nodded again. "How did you end up with Tyler?" She sighed and looked up and the stars.

"Well..." She began. "It was when I was with, someone else. My brother. We were looting a house when Wyatt found him huddled up in a closet." She explained my eyes went wide and I just had to ask her.

"Wyatt? Blue eyes? Brown hair? Tall? Kind of an ass?" I asked her. Her eyes went wide.

"Wait what?! How do you know that?!" She said, causing Tyler to stir in his sleep. "Do you know him?!"

"Yeah! I do! He was with me and my group before we were separated!!!" I half yelled.

"Oh my god! After we were overrun I thought he was dead! I thought I saw him go down! He could still be alive!" She was so excited. I smiled and nodded.

She suddenly pulled me into a hug. She pulled away and looked me straight in the eyes.

"Thank you. Thank you for giving me hope."

~Ryan's POV~

We were running. We were looting a store and the next thing ya know were running. I want to tell them. But how am I supposed to say something like that?

I guess I'll keep it to myself.

"I think... we lost them..." Mason huffed as he slowed to a stop. I stopped too a little bit ahead of Max.

"Did we even get anything?" Max asked. I took the duffle bag off my shoulder and threw it at his feet.

He opened it up and his eyes went wide. "Where did you find all this?!"

"Someone must have used to be set up in the back..." I told him. He nodded and I walked off.

I walked a little further ahead. I looked up at the huge tree before me. I grabbed the closest branch and pulled up. I brought myself up enough so I could grab the next branch. I kept that up until I couldn't go any higher.

I sat down and let my legs hang. I suddenly felt lightheaded. My head started to pound. My stomach churned and I knew it was starting. I grabbed onto the branch so I wouldn't fall off.

Next, images started appearing in my mind. Nasty, dark, images. Things you would only see in your nightmares. But in our case... it's everyday life.

Give in Ryan.

What is that?

Join us...

No.

Don't fight it.

Stop.

It's better this way.

No more pain, no more suffering.

Just give in.

Please stop!

Do it...

Give in.

Join us.

The dark is your friend, Ryan.

Don't fight it!!!

Ok... I won't fight it...

I'm ready.

Then...

It all goes back.

I'm gone, I'll never see light again. I'll never laugh, smile, or even talk again. I'm dead... I'm just...
