Walkers. Walkers everywhere. All you could see for at least a mile were walkers.

We were just driving down the road when Mason suddenly stopped the car with a jolt. "Holy hell..." He muttered.

"Turn it around Mason." Wyatt said. Mason sat there in shock, not moving a muscle. "TURN THE CAR AROUND NOW!!!" He yelled. This spanned Mason out of his trance and he instantly turned the car around.

Runners chased after the car but Mason had it in full gear, so It was impossible for them to catch up.

"What do we do now?" I asked to no one. Mason glanced back at me before turning his head back to the road.

"We keep going." He said. "That heard will probably keep going south, so we will have to back track and go north." He explained. We all nodded, deciding not to argue.

______________

An hour or two later the car stuttered to a stop. Mason hit the wheel and cursed under his breath. "Were out..." He informed.

"We could camp back at that walmart we saw a mile back, if it's safe. Maybe we can get some food, water. We can scrounge for gas in the morning too." Ryan suggested. Mason nodded and got out of the car. We all followed.

We walked in silence as we made our way to the store.

____________

An hour later the walmart came into view. "Finally!" Carson said from behind me. I rolled my eyes and walked a little faster.

After a minute or two we were at the front of the store. "Here's how we're gunna do this," Mason started. We all nodded for him to continue. "We go in teams, Kaitlynne and Bri look for food, Wyatt and Daryl look for weapons, Carson and Ryan look for water, and Max and I will look for clothes, sound like a plan?" He said, the last part a question.

"Good as any." Max said. We all nodded and took out our weapons. I gripped my hunting knife and made sure the safely was off on my gun.

We entered the store quietly, careful not to draw attention. "Any sign of trouble you get out of here, don't try to be the hero. Understand?" Mason said quietly, directing it mainly towards me. I rolled my eyes and split away from the group with Bri following behind be.

We walked around for a while, picking up random food items when Bri broke the silence.

"What's been up with you lately?" She asked. I rolled my eyes once again and ignored her. "It's like you've gone cold..." She said the last part softly and sadly. It broke my heart but I still answered her.

"That's because I have." I snapped in a whisper. "Now shut up and focus." I told her. I snuck a glance behind me and saw her eyes filled with hurt and pain. I felt a sting in my heart, knowing that I caused that pain. I shook it off and kept collecting whatever I could find.

"I think this should be enough." I told Bri who remained quiet and just nodded. I walked over to her and place a hand on her shoulder. "Look-"

I was cut off by someone yelling...

"WALKERS!!!!"

"Shit..." I muttered and pulled out my gun. The first walker appeared around the corner but I was to quick and shot it in the eye. "Bri! Come on!!!" I yelled to Bri who was frozen. She snapped out of it and grabbed her own gun.

I ran down the aisles with Bri behind me, shooting down any walkers that got to close. I peered around one of the other aisles to see Carson and Ryan cornered. "HEY BUTTHEADS!!!" I yelled causing all the walkers to turn around and face Bri and me.

"COME AND GET SOME!!!" Bri finished for me. I smirked and got ready to shoot the walkers.

______________

~Wyatt's POV~

Daryl and I weaved around walkers and aisles. I shot one that got too close every once and a while but we were running out of ammo. Then I made the choice no one wants to make.

"We have to go!!!" I yelled to Daryl. He looked at me like I was crazy.

"We can't leave them!!!" He yelled back. I was annoyed at this point.

"We can and we have to!!! Look if we don't leave now we will all die and we will never be able to help them!!" I yelled at him. He nodded and took off to the front doors. I followed close behind him.

We shot the walkers lingering around our exit and flew through the doors. Some of the walkers followed us so I pointed to the woods.

"Come on!!!" I yelled and ran Into the treeline.

Only one thing was on my mind.

Survive...

_______________

~Mason's POV~

Ryan, Max and I ran side my side though the woods around the back of the store. We didn't want to leave at first but were forced to when we got cornered.

I glanced behind me and stopped when no walkers had followed us. "Guys..." I said out of breath causing them to stop.

They looked back at me. "What... The hell... Happened?" I struggled to talk.

After a few seconds of catching our breath, Ryan answered. "Carson and I were at the front of the store when we saw them. By the time we noticed them though it was too late and they had gotten through the doors. I lost Carson back in the store..." He said the last and put his head down.

I put a hand on his shoulder. "We'll find them..."

_____________

~Carson's POV~

I ran down the road as fast as I could. I was out of ammo and I had 5 Runners after me and also a Screecher. 'This is not my day...' I thought and pushed myself a little harder.

Just as I thought I was gunna die, a gunshot rang out. Then another then 2 more. I turned around and saw the Runners dropping to the ground with every gunshot. Finally the Screecher dropped and a girl emerged from the treeline.

I stood there in shock as another figure also popped through the trees. It was a small child, he couldn't have been more than six.

"Hi. I'm Sam, and this is Tyler. And I just saved your life."
