If there was ever someone hard to find, it would be Revali. When I first arrived at Rito village, I went straight for the Elder. He told me of the grounds they had built for Revali and that if he was anywhere, it would be there. When I sent one of the guards to look, he reported back that there was no sign of Revali. After that, the ambassador of the Rito went out looking for him herself.
We waited there for four hours with the Elder. Once he fell asleep on us, I told the two guards that came with me of my desire to pray at the Goddess Statue. So following five steps in front and five behind we went down to the small statue.
From there, I prayed for around four more hours inside my head. When I heard the weariness in the guards' groans from standing, I decided that perhaps we should call it a day. It took us a long time to get here and the snow along the road was awful. It was a good thing Father allowed me to wear my white coat even though it was a trip for serious business. Another small thing I thanked him for.
As night came and my guards were both asleep, being assured that Rito's guards were on watch. Sleep didn't come as easily for me though. After lying in bed for a while, I got up and told the posted Rito that I would be just out on the main platform.
When I got there, I dared to sit on the edge and let my feet dangle off while my hands extended out behind me so I would be at a good angle to look at the stars. They seemed to be far brighter out here than at the castle. It was beautiful.
"I see you've taken your time getting here," Revali's condescending voice said from behind me.
I quickly turned my head to see him folding his wings as if he was the one who had been waiting all day long. Before speaking, I got to my feet and stepped away from the edge.
"I could say the same," I said, making a joke out of it.
His wings went behind his back as he walked closer to me. "So, you want me to be the Champion over Medoh?"
"Yes, I--"
He cut me off, "First I want to know why."
I smiled, "I would think that would have been easy. Your skill is something a Champion will need."
"Would you say I was the best archer in Hyrule?" he asked, his face coming very close to mine like he was daring me to say otherwise.
"I would, but do you really think intimidating me to say it is necessary?" I commented.
He gave a cocky smile as he slowly backed away, "Well, no, of course not. There are just some people who think of one other person who could possibly beat me."
"Link?" Revali didn't respond, so I added, "I understand your distaste for him, but I will say no more."
Getting us back on topic, Revali asked, "So what's this plan of yours before I go signing up for it blindly?"
"Um . . . well, as of right now and by what the Fortune Teller has told us, the Divine Beasts will be used as support for the hero. As for me, my purpose is still unknown besides the fact that I need to harness the power of my lineage."
He made a slight scowl. "You mean to say that the Divine Beasts are backups for some tiny little hero with an ancient blade? Has it even been pulled out yet?"
When he asked all that, I knew right away that I had misjudged him. Of course, he wouldn't say yes when there was the position of the legendary hero. Having the title of "Champion" wasn't what he wanted. He wanted the highest glory.
"Yes, it has been drawn," I said, hoping he wouldn't ask anything else. He did.
"And who is the lucky winner?"
