The Legend of Zelda: The Silent Princess

Lover's Pond

When we appeared at the shrine, I was amazed by the view of Lurelin Village below. The sun illuminated the whole place with light as it made its way to the horizon. I then remembered Link's sister. She had spoken of traveling here and sailing across the ocean. I wondered if she had really done it. Maybe in another kingdom, she had made a home.

"Do you think your sister's out there somewhere, living to an old ripe age?" I asked.

He looked out towards the blue sea, "I'd like to think so. Whatever happened, I know we protected her." He smiled, "Are you ready to head up Tuft Mountain?"

I took a breath, closing my eyes, "I guess it's about time we traveled there."

Putting my arms around him, we jumped off the edge. Being prepared this time for the jump, I enjoyed every second of it. We glided until our feet touched down on Tuft Mountain. The rest we had to climb. Unlike most people, we disregarded the direct path to the top of the mountain where the pond was.

When we were almost there, Link stopped and asked, "So why was it that we never came here? Or did we?"

I turned to him, "We didn't come here. For one, there was no need to. However, I did mention it to you, and how I was curious to find out if the rumors were true. I was like Impa. I wanted to research if those who had met each other at the pond stayed together or how many broke it off. The other reason was I was afraid that I would meet someone." I laughed, "But I knew that I would because you would have followed me."

"Let's see what happens with Sidon, then," Link said, moving past me while taking my hand.

Once we neared the top,  I could see why the rumors were started as the pond was a perfectly shaped heart. Flying above the water were five fairies. As the sun was setting, it made for a beautiful shot. I quickly looked around to see if anyone else was there, but Paya nor Sidon were there.

I pulled my hand away from Link's to pull out the Shiekah Slate, "I have to take a picture of this!"

Link watched in amusement as I moved from spot to spot, trying to get the angle I wanted. Eventually, I climbed up the mountain some more until I could see the entire heart down below. Link helped me back down, but we accidentally scared the fairies away by the sliding of our feet against the rocks.

"Oh no. I was going to take a close-up," I said with a frown. "Oh well, I guess it's back to waiting. Unfortunately, it appears Paya didn't take my advice. She and Sidon would have made an interesting match, don't you think?" 

Link chuckled, "I've seen stranger couples."

My mind reflected on when Link came here and helped a man deliver a blue nightshade to a Gerudo woman, I snickered, "What if another Gerudo came?"

Link shrugged, "They'd be tall enough for Sidon alright."

In the distance, I heard someone approaching as their steps crunched against the grass. I grabbed Link's hand and hid us behind a group of large rocks.

"Why are we hiding?" Link whispered, "Sidon wanted to meet us here."

"That would ruin his moment. We'll come out after they meet," I explained. 

Getting to my knees, I peeked over the rocks. As expected, the newcomer was Sidon. He scanned the area, confirming no one was around. He then looked over the flowers growing in the area. There was a great variety to choose from. Even the silent princess grew around the pond.

I sat back down, tucking my legs near my chest as I rested my head on top of my knees. I watched the sun dip into the sea. Link leaned against the rock, watching the sunset with me. It felt great to have this freedom.
