Our Memories

After Link was returned to Goron City, he was given the sledgehammer Daruk always carried. As he was leaving, however, he spotted something on the horizon. I could hardly believe it myself as I stared at the legendary Dinraal. Father once told me that if anyone were to shoot the divine dragons, they would bless the archer with a scale or something even more valuable. It was said the dragons could travel across realms. I have always wanted to see one, especially the Light Dragon who many theorized was connected to Hylia just as Dinraal represented the Goddess Din.

Link took off, chasing the fiery dragon down. Once he got closer, a current of air arose. He used that to lift himself closer to the dragon. Then he took out his bow and shot the side of the dragon. At least he seemed to remember small information such as that or maybe he did it out of curiosity.

At the spot where Dinraal was hit, its scale glowed. Then the scale fell off of Dinraal entirely. Link followed with his eyes as the scale landed on the ground. He flew in that direction, finding the scale still glowing. He kept it in his pouch for safekeeping.

Before he traveled to the next Divine Beast he took another look at what he had on his map. He ended up going back to Akkala as he noticed some strange formations in that area. Getting on his horse, he went along the dirt road towards the East Akkala Stable. Before he got there though, he stopped, noticing something odd on his map. What he was looking at was the Spring of Power. He reared his horse to the left, passing the true entrance to the Spring.

Instead, he rode to the very top of it, which ended up being the best way to get there anyway after later learning of the guardians surrounding the other way. Link climbed down inside the spring. Slowly, he made his way in front of the statue of the Goddess Hylia. It appeared as if time did nothing to her at all. The spring was the same as the last time I had seen it.

Standing up on the platform, Link scanned the area again with his eyes. He took out the Sheikah Slate and examined the pictures he was given from the past. I had nearly forgotten that I had taken a picture of this place. Suddenly, within him, I felt him reaching for the memory as he looked back up. Instantly, I placed my hand on his shoulder, allowing him to attain the memory.

It was just like the two memories of Mipha and Daruk. I was there, revisiting the past. It was different this time as the memory was about me. My past self stood in the spring, praying for something that simply couldn't be given to me in such a way. From where I stood viewing the memory, I could see Link's expression through the whole thing.

Just as Urbosa was always worried for me, he too had that look. Before I knew it, we were back in the present. A new understanding came to Link's eyes. I smiled, glad to know that at least one memory of me had returned. It also meant it was time to see Impa again, but only after he offered the scale of Dinraal to the Goddess Hylia.

He used the Sheikah Slate to travel to Kakariko faster, having done the shrine in the village. He wasted no time going down the hill properly as he glided down to her house instead. Impa awaited him inside. Just by looking at him, she could tell he had gained some of his memories. After passing to him a few words she took out the blue tunic I had made for Link.

She handed it to him. He took it, seeing it was the same thing he had worn in his memories. I drew a breath, glad it was in his hands again.

"This is something of yours that I have been keeping safe, by request of the princess. This clothing was specially made for you when you became a Champion. Please handle it with care," she instructed him.

Link nodded, as he pulled his other shirt off to put on the tunic. From off to the side, Paya squealed out of embarrassment. Impa chuckled.

"You have gotten too used to traveling, it appears."
