As Link traveled to Lake Hylia, my mind became more intertwined with Midna's. I was able to discover what it was like for her people in the Twilight Realm. Unlike their ancestors, they were peaceful and loving. It was true they did not care for the World of Light, but everyone there, based on Midna's memories, was quite happy.

Just as I did, Midna ruled by the side of her parents. Not only that, but I was also able to see what she really looked like. A tall woman with a black cloak and a red jewel on her forehead. Green symbols traced down her legs. Her hair remained the same vibrant orange.

Midna stood next to the throne where her father sat as they were taking care of the needs of the people. I immediately recognized Zant as he came forward, with no mask to hide his face or lizard-like eyes. He knelt down.

"My leadership, soon it will be time for a new ruler to be chosen."

"We are aware of this," Midna said, "The council has already agreed I am the best choice."

Zant closed his eyes as he stood slowly. "But they are wrong. You have put in no work to prove yourself."

Midna's father was about to say something when Midna stepped closer to Zant. She crossed her arms. "What was that? I'm afraid you've mistaken me for those princesses in the Light Realm. May I remind you that I've gained the powers necessary to direct my people!"

Zant's eyes locked onto hers. I was shocked by the deep eye contact he gave. "You will rule as your parents. We know nothing but false happiness and no one dares to desire a single thing. Everyone does as they should, turning life into misery! I can give them more." He spun around, lifting his arms in the air, and cried, "And if our people accept me, cousin, I can gain that power!"

When none of the people in the room made any kind of sound, his eyes shot down at them. All of their heads looked from one to the other, not seeing any reason to change how things were run. His mouth opened enough to see his sharp teeth as he scowled.

Behind him, Midna's father stood. "It appears, Zant, they choose not to grant your request. Leave here to clear your head. As an advisor of the Royal Family, you must understand that power isn't everything. Only a select few can control it. After all, our ancestors made that mistake."

Everyone watched as Zant shuffled out of the room in his own strange way. Midna sighed as she went back to her father's side. A little while later, her mother came to get her. She wore a black dress with a slit in the side and her hair was mostly down.

So many similarities to my own life. Her mother had come to request Midna study just as mine did. The only thing we both lacked was knowledge about the other realm. Judgments were placed harshly. At least that had changed.

Midna walked through the palace to a spacious room while her mother went to rejoin her father. When her mother was long gone, Midna shut the door behind her. Everything in the room glowed from the blue-green symbols on the walls. The gray floor had similar symbols etched into it. She strolled forward to a set of glowing steps.

On the floor below was a magnificent source of light. Seeing it in her mind, I found out that the light was called a Sol. It was their equivalent to the sun. Beyond the Sol was a large statue of a hand. It was meant to protect the Sol, but it clearly had another purpose as Midna snapped her fingers together and the hand glowed the same color as the rest of the room. Then, from out of nowhere, Midna pulled out a long black spear. She began to train, using the hand as her target.

It was strange how graceful her movements were despite the task she was doing. Just as I had to, she was learning how to use her own powers. She teleported left and right just as Zant did when he fought my father. She, however, knew exactly what she was doing with her spear unlike Zant trying to wield two blades.
