I blinked as we both sat on the grass, fully comprehending what we just agreed to. I was going to get married! My seventeen-year-old self wouldn't have believed it. She probably would have said her fate was to die at the hands of Calamity Ganon just like everyone else she loved.
Pulling the silent princess in, I smelled the rich scent it gave. It wasn't a ring, but it was the best thing Link could have given me. Perhaps the Lover's Pond did help people find love or in our case help us start a new chapter.
"So . . . uh . . . what now?" Link asked.
I tilted my head, "What do you mean?"
"Did you want to invite people? Where do you want to have it and when?"
I had nearly forgotten that part, "Oh! Right. Hmm, I don't really know. I haven't thought about it before."
He smiled, "Can't say I have either."
"Well . . . my parents got married in the Temple of Time," I suggested.
"And guests?"
I bit my lip, "Just whoever comes in spirit. Otherwise, something private."
"I'd like that."
"As for when I don't have the faintest idea," I blinked, standing to my feet, "I hope Sidon hasn't rushed things! Wait, are we rushing things?"
Link laughed as he stood too, "I already asked that, and you said yourself it's been 117 years."
I squirmed a little, "Well, yeah. But your memory is still foggy, right? What if you don't like the way I chew my food? Or maybe I talk in my sleep. What if--"
"Zelda," he said, bringing my face closer to his, "I remember. And you do talk in your sleep and are quite stubborn and bossy."
I scowled, "Well, you're usually annoyingly quiet! Not to mention overprotective!"
It was silent for a bit until we both let out a flurry of laughter. After we calmed ourselves, Link closed the gap between us. It was warm, and I couldn't believe my luck. I tried to recall the happiness experienced by the other daughters of Hryule, wanting to compare. However, their memories were slowly fading. Were they leaving me just like the scared power?
When our lips parted, I smiled. It didn't matter. I simply needed to live my own life, "Alright, let's go meet up with Sidon to see how he's doing. He's probably back at the domain by now. We can plan later."
Quickly I got out the slate and within seconds we stood back in Zora's Domain. My stomach was slowly getting used to the travel gates. So much so that I could energetically grab a hold of Link and run up the steps to Mipha's statue.
On the other side, Sidon stood staring at his sister's craved eyes. Yona was nowhere to be found, which was a huge disappointment because I wanted to meet her.
When Sidon saw the two of us he ran over. He had a broad smile as he said, "Your advice worked splendidly! I was amazed by the outcome. It was as if the place read my mind!"
"So who was it?" I asked, pretending as if we hadn't seen the encounter.
He looked dreamily off to the side, "Yona, a childhood friend." He then sighed, "We agreed to see each other more, but I'm worried she doesn't feel the same way I do. Or that I'm wanting to go from her friend to potential partner too fast."
About to step to offer a female's perspective, I was shocked when Link came forward instead. He told Sidon to follow him. I watched as they traveled to the bridge. Though I could not hear what Link was saying, I felt my cheeks glowing pink and my ears burning. Sidon eventually took a glance at me in awe before looking back at Link.
