"I can't believe you still have to dress as a woman to get in," I said, as I adjusted his veil.
"Well it isn't like Urbosa let me in either without paying the price," he smiled. Then he frowned, looking over the Gerudo outfit I had on for the fifth time. I may have secretly ordered it behind his back, but in all honesty, it was Rhondson who suggested it.
I laughed, "I suppose they can't show weakness, even for such a cute voe."
"You're back! My little boot thief!" someone yelled.
Link's eyes widened as a man with glasses and dark hair met up with us. I glanced at Link when I saw the man had no shoes.
"Who is your cute friend?" the man asked, eying me.
I was about to extend my hand out, but Link stopped me by grabbing my hand. Then he stepped in front of me.
In a high-pitched voice, he said, "We are over! And don't you dare think about flirting with my friend!"
The man beamed, "We were a thing!"
Link scowled and dragged me away into the town. I smiled at the man and got out, "Travel to Lover's Pond!"
I laughed once the man was out of sight, "So what's your ex-boyfriend's name?"
Link shrugged, "The Boot Guy?"
I rolled my eyes and then looked around the town. It was ultimately the same as the last time I came here myself. The shops were a little different and there was even a jewelry shop.
Link tugged at my hand as we walked. I expected him to keep going to see Riju, but instead, we went into the jewelry shop.
"Link . . ." I began, but then I remembered he was disguised as a girl, "Linkle, what are we doing?"
The woman running the shop beamed when she noticed Link, "Oh, my favorite customer! So it's Linkle, is it? I'm sorry I never asked. How rude of me!"
Link scratched the back of his head, "Um, yeah, don't worry about it. Anyway, I need a custom order. Can you do rings? I have the sketches and the diamonds you'll need."
I tried to get a glimpse of his sketches, but it was already in her hands. She looked over them and smiled.
"Yeah, I could do that. Ring sizes?"
He held up one of my hands, and she circled my ring finger with string. She did the same with Link. She told him the price and he gave up his rupees.
"These will take some time, especially since they're so intricate. How should I get ahold of you when they're finished?" she asked.
"Just send word to Hateno Village," Link said, slowly tugging me out the door.
As we left, I whispered, "Do you think she's suspicious of you?"
"Eh, apparently a lot of Gerudo know I'm a voe and don't care," he said.
I nudged him, "So are you going to tell me how long you've had those sketches?"
He said nothing as he walked up the steps that led into the throne room where Riju sat. She was probably the shortest Gerudo I knew. Though she was young, her size told me that she wouldn't reach Urbosa's height any time soon.
Riju sat up in her chair, "You have returned." Her eyes scanned me over before they broadened, "It's you, Princess Zelda. Many traveling Gerudo have told me of what occurred several months ago. What may we do for you?"
I walked to the same spot I once stood while requesting Urbosa to pick up the helm. It was strange seeing her sister's granddaughter on the throne.
