Chapter 18

I knocked on Alec's door

"If you're not Aurora, fuck off!" I raised my eyebrows. What a nice human being. I opened the door and saw him laying in bed reading something.

"What are you reading?" I asked heading towards his bed

"A book" he smiled

"Yes, i can see that" i took a sit on the bed next to him "you owe me some answers" he took a deep breath

"Ok. Are you ready?" I nodded my head "once upon a time me, my father and yours, Claire and Will and some other guys were all in the mafia. I know it sounds stupid but we were. My father was a respected man and so was yours. Your father left the mafia when you turned 12 and tried to convince my father as well but he was too stubborn to listen. My mother was killed by one of my father's enemies. It was a big shock for everyone. After he killed every one of them, he decided to leave the mafia. We all did. The ones that kidnapped us today were also some old enemies. Wanted revenge. Now they're all dead." He said it all like it was something normal

"Did you kill people as well?" I was so afraid of the answer

"Yes"

"Did you feel guilty?" I'm gonna collapse

"Is this one of the times you want me to lie to protect your delicate emotions?" He said coldly. I don't know why he was acting like this

"I want the truth" i whispered

"At first i didn't have time to feel guilty and then it became something usual for me. For all of us." He shrugged "i liked killing. It made me feel powerful" my heard broke

"I-i-" tears started rolling down my cheeks "i hope you never take a breath without remembering all the breaths you've taken away!" I screamed at him and stormed out of the room. I took my car keys and started driving.

I've been driving for a long time and i didn't know where i was going. As i started seeing lots if trees i realized i came to the forest where Alec took me. But i didn't want to go there. So i went back home.

I saw Will's car in the driveway and heard some screams. Good God this is bad. I started running towards the door but stopped when i heard a gunshot. Tell me no one died. Will came out of the house. I ran to him

"Are you ok? What happened?" I asked worried

"M-me? You're not mad at me?" He looked confused

"No, of course not. They are?" I motioned my head towards the house.

"They say I'm a traitor. Maybe i am. All i know is that i did what i had to. Don't get me wrong, i regret it but what's done is done. I'm only sorry that i put you in danger" he said sincerely

"It's fine. I understand" i hugged him, then i heard another gunshot

"Remove your arms or i will rip them off and beat you to death with them!" Alec looked at him like he wanted to kill him right then. He was barely standing just on one leg. Will took a step back

"Goodbye, Aurora and thank you for everything." He kissed my cheek and Alec fired again

"Do you want to die so desperately?!" Alec screamed. Will got in his car and left. I walked towards the door. I looked with disgust at him

"You said you'll consider forgiving him" i shook my head "I'll never forgive you for this" he didn't try to stop me and that hurt even more.

For the next few weeks i didn't talk to anyone. When i was home i stayed alone in my room and when i was at college i tried to avoid Claire but if it happened to meet with her, i tried to be nice.
