So Far Away, But Still So Near

It was a saturday night and Leah had been begging me to go to the clubs with her for so long, tonight was the first time I said yes....and boy did I wish I said no. I could tell from the moment we arrived at a place called EVE that I felt out of place. Leah kept reassuring me that a lot of people from the PC would be here tonight but that didn't help. It was just one of those places that I never felt like I fit in. But if I could say one thing that was good about it is that I got to see Leah wearing something other than sweatpants. Now she looked like this is where she fit in perfectly. We were waiting on someone outside and Leah wouldn't tell me who it was, until I saw a group of people walking towards us. In that group I noticed Pam, Mercedes, Ashley, Rami, Colby, and Allen. I sighed when I saw Allen because that meant she was here, right as I thought that I saw Rebecca holding Allen's hand. I wanted to leave even more now but Leah insisted I stay.

"LEAH OH MY GOD!" Pam screamed in excitement as she ran over and hugged Leah.

"Oh I missed you so much!" Leah said lifting Pam off the ground.

"We're not even inside yet and they're already screaming." Rami said throwing his hands up.

"Rami, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"I oughta ask you the same question, this isn't really your thing either." He said.

"Well I got dragged here essentially." I said pointing at Leah.

"Yeah well me too." He said pointing to Mercedes.

"Oh you could've stayed at the hotel." Mercedes said.

"Yeah but did you really think after seeing you like this that I was gonna miss out." Rami said pointing out Mercedes outfit which was damn near skin tight.

"Awwh baby." Mercedes said before giving him a kiss.

"Yeah ok." I said looking away.

"Looks like you and me are totally third wheeling tonight." Ashley said walking over to me.

"I mean it looks like Colby is third wheeling Leah and Pam as well." I said.

"I heard that!" Colby yelled.

"We know!" Ashley said laughing.

"Aye Fergal." Rebecca said hugging me.

"Oh uh...hey Rebecca." I said not knowing how to respond.

"You good man?" Allen asked.

"Yeah you seem like a fish out of water here Fergal." Rebecca said pulling away.

"I just wish I had brought some legos you know." I said.

"What the fuck Fergal." Allen said laughing.

"It's true it would give me something to do." I said.

"Are we heading inside or not?" Leah asked everyone.

"Yes finally come on lets go." Mercedes said.

"You ready babe?" Allen asked wrapping his arm around Rebecca.

"I am if you are." Rebecca said before kissing him.

"Yeah I think imma stay out here." I said.

"No you're not." Ashley said pulling me by my arm.

Once we got inside I realized how much of fish out of water I was. I looked around and saw nothing but crowds of people on the dance floor and hordes by the bars. The music was as loud as you would expect it to be, too loud. I watched as our entire group split up and watch as everyone besides Ashley and I went to the dance floor. Ashley and I looked at eachother and just shrugged our shoulders and went over to the bar. I sat down and looked at the bartender and immiadetly ordered as much Guinness as he could give me.
