Chapter 17

Y/N POV

Another school year had come and gone.

It was now summer break again.

You would only be an hour away from Taehyung.

He again was going to stay with his family's friends.

You were glad he would still be close but you would definitely miss seeing him every day.

You and Taehyung worked at the same jobs as the year before, you in a daycare and him in the sandwich shop.

Since you were dating this summer it seemed even longer between the times you got to see Taehyung.

You wanted time to either speed up so you got to see him sooner or slow down when you were together.

But unfortunately it seemed like it was always the opposite.

You would go see him on weekends or he would come see you.

You would go on dates or just chill.

You both loved going to the zoo and just enjoying what little time you have together.

You would call him and text him daily.

Skype him if you could or when you could.

You enjoyed seeing his face and hearing his voice, you missed it often.

You were so ready to go back to school, and being able to see him every day.

Lucky for you the summer went by fast enough.

You were back to school, unlucky for you, you needed a job.

You needed more income then just working over the summers.

You end up working in the cafeteria at school.

A good thing was you got to work with Taehyung though.

You both worked most nights.

Most of the time you worked side by side.

He cooked, sliced the pizzas, and gave them out to hungry college students.

You worked in the sandwich line waiting for someone to order.

Taehyung's line of course was busy a lot, I mean what college student doesn't like pizza.

Your line wasn't busy a lot, some would come up for a sandwich.

You would get the bread and put on the toppings they chose.

You would help out Taehyung if he needed it, especially if your line was dead.

You got to talk when it was the fairly dead times of the dinner rush.

It was nice to at least be close to him.

At the end of the night you, Taehyung and the other workers would have to clean up all the tables, vacuum the floor, clean the stations where the food was and mop the tile floor.

It took a lot of work and time but if everyone worked together it usually got done decently fast.

One day you two were working.

You kept looking at Taehyung he seemed to be acting really weird.

You knew something was wrong.

You ask if anything was wrong.

He replies with he just doesn't feel good, not really a sick feel bad, just a feel bad like something horrible is going to happen.

You were at a lost of what to say or what to do.

Finally you decide to tell him that you are here with him and you will try to help him out as much as possible.

Right after you say that you hear the manager in the back come out yelling.

He yells that a tornado is about to hit, which is a very rare occurrence.

No wonder Taehyung felt so bad, his body somehow knew.

All the staff and college students that were in the cafeteria were told to go down into a tunnel below it.

It was dark till someone turned on the lights.

It looked like a long hallway but it had thick walls and was sort of like a bunker.

You knew if you had to be anywhere on campus this was probably the safest place, it was underground which was the best possibility for shelter.

You were happy to be with Taehyung knowing that he is safe as well.

Taehyung is huddled on the ground looking slightly frightened.

You knew he was scared but he didn't want to admit it.

He wanted to be the strong male type which you knew wasn't always in his nature.

You were fine with it, you wouldn't change him for the world.

You cuddle close to him reminding him that this is the safest place on campus and you are there with him.

He replies with yeah he knows he will protect you Y/N.

You just laugh saying Taehyung it's ok to be scared, you are too but he has you and that's all he needs.

He looks at you and kisses your cheek.

He utters thanks Y/N you always know how to make me feel better.

You both sit there cuddling for what seems like hours trying to figure on what's going on above ground.

No one gets cell reception in the tunnel so everyone is out of loop on what the tornado is doing.

Your manger occasionally goes above to listen to the radio.

He tries to keep you all updated.

He tells everyone that the tornado hit the east side of town.

You wouldn't know the full damage until it was all over.

Eventually the tornado dissipates.

You all go back to eating and working.

You find out later it took a few businesses out.

You had friends that were at McDonald's at that side of town saying they heard the tornado and felt the building shake as it went by.

Luckily no one died and only a few got a few scrapes and bruises but nothing major.

You were glad when it was finally over, of course your parents and his parents got wind of what happened and had to ask if everyone was ok.

You were both fine just a little shook up by the event.

But you felt a little closer to him.
