Chapter 18

That night I had a restless night plagued with the screams of my teammates and friends, of their pain even seeing Sasuke, Hinata and Shino screaming and wailing in pain making me bolt up panting and sweat rolling down my face. I looked at the time and realised I had to get to the arena soon before the fighting started so I got up and took a shower before getting dressed in my normal clothes that was a black tight singlet with a fishnetted T shirt under it and a pair of black ANUBU ninja pants with a coat on that had no sleeves but had a collar and was black with a large red sun on the back of it and reached my feet, my arms and legs wrapped in bandages. After that I packed my weapons pouch and made sure I had everything before plaiting and putting my hair into a bun and headed to the arena.
"Hey Kuroki, are you feeling okay?" Shikamaru asked, looking at me worried.
"Yeah don't worry about me was just so excited I couldn't sleep properly" I chuckled hoping he brought it but by the raised eyebrow I would be getting questioned later on. The first match was Naruto Vs Sasuke and I watched intrigued as the two rivals battled each other until they ended up both passing out making me smile lightly.
"Well I must say that Sasuke and Naruto sure know when not to give up" I smiled and Shikamaru nodded before sighing and heading down for his fight against Temari. I watched as he completely outsmarted Temari before he gave up making me sweatdrop.
"Um Shikamaru.....Really?" I questioned and he shrugged with a yawn. Finally it was me verse Gaara so I jumped down and was ready for the red head.

"Fight" Genma, who was hosting this exam, called and instantly Gaara's sand shot towards me and around me.
"Well it was nice knowing that kid," Kankuro laughed.
"Don't be stupid there is no way that has Kuroki" Shikamaru yawned making Kankuro sneer before they heard a boom. Inside the sand shell I breathed in clenching my hands.
'I haven't really used this before but guess now is the best time' I thought to myself as I gathered the chakra into my fists before thrusting it out and hit the sand making it basically explode outwards destroying the sand shell and I jumped up and back as Gaara looked at me enraged and shocked.
"That's not going to work. I have a way out of your sand burial, it took me a week to complete it but it was completely worth it" I said as I stretched and looked at my knuckles seeing the skin had been grazed.
"Mother wants your blood now" Gaara snarled and more sand went towards me but I jumped up and away from it dodging away everytime it got close while I reached into my weapons pouch grabbing three kunai and threw them straight for Gaara. His sand reacted instantly, moving to stop the three kunai, making me turn and race straight at Gaara while the sand was blocking me from view. Once again I charged my fist up and when the sand moved Gaara's eyes widened a little but I turned around and smashed my fist straight towards him only for the sand to stop me but it pushed Gaara back some from the force of the power.
"That can't be," one person whispered.
"No doubt about it, that is the slug princess's strength, the strength of Tsunade from the Sanin," Sarutobi said, looking at me in shock.
"Die" Gaara growled but I quickly jumped out of the way before starting to do hand signs while on the run.
"Katon great fireball jutsu," I said, blowing out a large fireball. When the fire hit the sand I smirked as the heat of the fire started to turn the sand into glass before I slammed my fist into the glass that had partly formed and enhanced the punch with chakra sending several sharp pieces towards Gaara while throwing some kunai and senbons. I saw that one senbon managed to actually get Gaara cutting his cheek but the rest were stopped by his sand.
"Oh no," Temari whispered.
"Blood.....It's my blood" Gaara screamed and started to freak out before he turned and glared at me sending a lot of sand straight at me making me dodge and roll to the side just as feathers started to fall from the ceiling so I knew it was a genjutsu so I shook it off and instantly used my speed to get to Gaara even as the sand grabbed me. My left hand was not grabbed so I pulled it back enhancing it and slamming my fist straight into Gaara's stomach going right thru the sand barrier making the sand go down and he coughed up some blood in shock.
"You know Gaara, you aren't a monster no matter what anyone ever says you aren't a monster. You are as human as anyone else if you simply looked in front of you, you would find many people that care about you and want to be your friends, I know that Suna didn't treat you well because of their own choice but your brother and sister truly love you. Perhaps when you can control Shukaku better I can be your friend" I offered with a gentle smile before he passed out before he started to shake and I lent into his ear.
"Shukaku if you know what's good for you, you will stay in that seal even if it is weak because I promise you even if it takes my life. I will seal you back in a teapot and sink you so far in the ocean no one will ever find you ever again, I promise you that, on my life" I vowed angrily and Gaara stopped shaking since Shukaku knew I was serious.
"Let go of our brother now" Temari demanded, grabbing her fan out while Kankuro had his puppets ready.
"He will be on the way to mending his life and his heart but you will need to be there for him. For now the Ichibi will not come out so you should travel fast" I warned before I turned seeing that Orochimaru had been disguised as the Kazekage and was heading for the Hokage.
