Chapter 14

"Kuroki.....Kuroki are you alright?" a voice called and I groaned, opening my eyes again to see Ino had gotten up, limping over to me and I saw a large bruise around her neck and her hair was cut unevenly.
"I'm....Sorry" I apologised.
"Kuroki you listen....You did everything you could, he was a sanin we were lucky to survive" Ino comforted.
"Lets help Choji and Shikamaru" I said getting up even as blood boiling pain raced through me from my shoulder, I just bit my lip and continued on after all my friends needed my help.
"What did he put on your shoulder Kuroki?" Shikamaru asked as we got close.
"A seal I will deal with it when I make sure you guys are okay, set up camp for the night" I said and Shikamaru frowned but I turned and headed to his legs.
"I don't think anything is broken just pinned and trapped" Shikamaru told me and I nodded as I used my strength to lift the rocks while Shikamaru shimmed his way out of the rocks and I was panting by the time I had finished and I had lost all colour.
"We should take care of our wounds and Choji's, considering who he was we got it easy" Shikamaru said and I nodded.
"Ino do you have a mirror?" I asked and she nodded before handing me the mirror. I looked at the seal on my neck and went through my mind library about different seals.
"Ino, Shikamaru do you have any chakra left?" I asked, looking at them as I was leaning against the tree exhausted.
"A little why?" Shikamaru questioned.
"Not really sorry" Ino apologised.
"It's fine Shikamaru can you put your chakra into the sea, I think I know how to get it off it will more then likely pass out but keep in mind this is only a theory" I warned and they nodded as Shikamaru sat there his legs out in front of him and lent over and placed his hand on the mark and started to put his chakra in making me close my eyes and go deep into my mind like a meditative trance.

When I opened my eyes my mind was like normal. There was a grassy field with a forest off to the side and a river that went through it, but near the forest there was a black spot.
"What do you think you are doing?" I demanded glaring and walking over to it.
"Kuroki, I could make your dreams come true with all the power you could think of having" the voice I knew was Orochimaru, cooed.
"I don't want your power, the only power I need is my own. I don't need power that's been borrowed" I snapped.
"Then I could help you find your parents, don't you want to know all you need to do is give in and I can help you find them" Orochimaru promised who was now a shadow figure as it held its hand out.
"No, I can find them by myself and if I need help my friends will be there to help me," I said.
"You need me" the shadow shrieked.
"NO! I don't need you so get the fuck out of my head and stay out!" I roared before slamming my hand straight into the shadow's face even as pain like never before went through my body but I just kept my hand there, flowing my own strength and will into it making the thing shriek before finally it faded and disappeared and I was snapped back to reality.

My throat was raw and scratchy more than likely from screaming in pain, my body felt like it had been crushed then cut into pieces, even my hair hurt. When I opened my eyes I was relieved to see Ino, Shikamaru and Choji looking a lot better.
"How long was I out?" I whispered, my voice cracking.
"Kuroki" they said, relieved as they rushed over, Ino helping me sit up and Shikamaru giving me a drink.
"You were only out for the rest of the first day and night it's now the second day" Choji informed me.
"And the scrolls?" I asked and they smiled.
"You don't need to worry, some sound ninjas tried to attack us but we beat them easily. They were trying to take you away so to keep their lives they gave us the scroll we need" Ino cheered and I nodded.
"I'm sorry I couldn't protect you guys" I apologised looking at the ground angry at myself.
"Hey we are ninjas as well, and against a sanin I think we did pretty good seeing as we are only genins, don't worry about it" Choji smiled and I nodded a little still blaming myself.
"Let's get going, can you walk Kuroki?" Shikamaru asked and I nodded. My body still felt like it was on fire but I could do it.
"Yeah" I said, pushing myself up with the help of the tree and locking all the pain I was feeling away so they wouldn't find out so we were heading with me leading us even if they noticed I was slower or wobbling they never mentioned it.
"Wow we are here already" Ino grinned as the sun was starting to set.
"Yeah we were closer than I thought, we should open both scrolls now that we are here" I said and Shikamaru nodded as he opened one and Choji opened one. While they did that Ino and I both had kunai knives ready to take on anything if anything happened after all we had just fought against a sannin.
"Congratulations on passing," Asuma grinned and we sighed in relief.
"Wow you guys look pretty beat up" Asuma noted and before they said anything I stopped them.
"Asuma we need to speak with you and your father in complete privacy away from eyes and ears" I told him and he turned serious before nodding and gesturing for us to follow.
"This room is soundproof, spy proof and can't even be ears dropped on, make yourself comfortable, have some food and drinks. I will be back soon" Asuma ordered as he shut the door and my knees buckled.
"Idiot why didn't you tell us you were pushing yourself" Choji scowled as he and Ino helped me over to the couch before grabbing me some food and water before serving themselves and eating.
