•Y/N: Your Name

Your POV: Flashback

I pant heavily as I run as fast as I can into the woods by the park. I remember that years ago I had gotten lost in this place, but I couldn't worry about that now. I'm currently being chased down like a fox being tracked by dogs on a hunt. Actually, a rabbit might be a better comparison. I doubt I can be slick enough to evade my predators like a fox.

I yelp when I trip over my feet and slam against the trunk of a tree face first. My chasers catch up easily when this happens, surrounding me. I tremble, my back pressing against the tree as my eyes land on Jessica and her little gang. Among them is... was my best friend, Marina, and two boys from the school's football team. Tears well in my eyes from fear and betrayal. I can't believe she's about to do this to me. The boys each grab one of my arms and hold me still no matter how much I struggle.

"M- Marina, please don't," I plead as tears roll down my cheeks. The girl is hesitant and looks at Jess for guidance. A smirk appears on the blonde's face as she nods. They both approach me to take turns kicking and punching me. Marina's hits weren't strong at first, but gradually became more painful. Gasps and screams escape me, yet no one came to my rescue.

I'll just have to endure this. They stop once they're tire out. Pained whimpers escape me as they back away. I look up at Marina who glares at me with clenched fists. I don't know what sort of lie Jess told her that got the freshman to treat me like this, but it must've been bad.

"You were right, Jess. I don't need people like her holding me back."

A sob catches in my throat.

'We've known each other since third grade. Does that mean nothing to her?' I hang my head and cry harder than before.

'Why must she ruin my life?'

"See? I told you. Just look at her; she's just a little cry baby. You can do so much better." With a smirk on her pink lips, she drapes an arm over the brunette's shoulders.

'You sat alone at lunch, crying because your food was stolen.'

"Hey, how about you come hang out with me from now on?"

'I sat beside you and split my lunch so we could share, even giving you my lollipop. I told you there was no reason to be sad.'

"Really?" Jess hums to confirm while nodding her head.

"Yeah, that'd be awesome!"

'You said I was the nicest person you've ever met, that we'd be friends forever.' Jess turns towards my holders.

"Take over for us, won't ya, boys?"

'You're such a liar.'
