Cold.
I feel so cold.
I feel like I've been submerged in ice, my body is aching, and everything is so dark. My limbs are heavy, like they weigh a ton, so moving them is out of the question. My head is pounding like a loud drum, and my heartbeat can be heard going along with the constant thumps. My eyelids feel like they're glued shut, trapping my sight in pitch black darkness. I want to move, I'm trying, but I just can't. I want to cry, but I'm somehow unable to. I can't even open my mouth to speak.
'Is this death? No, it couldn't be.' I can feel the damp blades of grass beneath my hands. The wetness soaks my clothes, and I can smell trees and plant life. Almost, I believed I was still with Mephiles by the water, however, after hearing the all too familiar sounds of vehicles rushing by on asphalt, I begin to doubt my previous thoughts.
'Where an I?'
"Oh my God! Someone call an ambulance," someone shouts in a voice that I find strangely familiar. It's male, but that's all I can really make of it.
"Is she still breathing?" Another person asks worriedly.
'Another man,' I note. I want to say something, mutter that I need help, but I can't even move my mouth.
"I-I don't know," stutters out the first man. "W-wait, I know her. Oh, god! I know her!" He shouts hysterically.
'So,I do know him, but who is it? Who are these guys?' I hear a sound in the distance that gradually becomes louder as they get closer. Sirens: that's what I'm hearing.
"Get her in quick," orders a new voice. Before I know it, my body is lifted onto something that carries me away. I can hear doors shut after I'm set down, but soon I start moving again. I must be in a vehicle, though.
"Is she going to be okay?" Asks the familiar, male voice, his tone full of worry.
"She's lost a lot of blood. We're lucky you found her when you did. A moment longer and she would've possibly been dead," explains the voice I heard before I was put in, what I assume is, an ambulance. Something punctures my wrist, making me internally wince. I would've flinched if I had the ability to move.
I begin to slip in and out of consciousness, my mind practically skipping past the ride to the hospital. Well, at least, I hope that's where I'm headed. The vehicle stops, and I'm lifted once more. I'm taken into a building, judging by the sounds of typing on a computer, the different smell, and multiple voices talking. I happen to pick up on another familiar voice in the masses, this one being female and frantic.
"My daughter! Where is my daughter?" She asks in a tone only a worried mother can have.
'Mom? That's mom, isn't it?'
"M...mo....mom..." I mutter in a barely audible voice that hurts my dry throat.
'If mom's here, does that mean...no way.'
"She's waking up! Hurry, take care of her neck before the wound opens any further," someone orders as I'm taken further away.
"I'm afraid you can't go any further," says a feminine voice to, supposedly, my mother.
