•Y/N: Your Name

Your POV:

All is quiet in the house. My breathing is steady and soft as I dream of nothing. The rest is peaceful, however, and I show no desire to leave my comfortable state of mind. Such a shame that was all ruined by a certain someone who thought it would be funny to literally kick me off the bed. I land on the floor with a hard thud, which jolted me awake. I spring up in anger, my vision a little blurry due to still feeling sleepy. I send my glare towards the culprit as I rant him out.

"Oh, I know you did not just shove me off the bed,

...

Claude!!!!!"

What? Did you think I was talking Mephiles? Ha! You thought! Who would've thought Claude has such strong legs, though? One of them is still injured too. That's crazy!

"Y/N, let me sleep. It's four in the goddamn morning," groans a grouchy voice. My gaze shifts from the cat to Mephiles, who turns over to face me. Oddly enough, I didn't receive the same hypnotized feeling I usually get whenever I look into the emerald orbs. Something I also find strange is his voice. It sounds... gruffer.

'Did he get sick or something?'

"Oh, sorry, Mephiles. I didn't mean to wake you," I apologize in a lower voice. He huffs before turning back over onto his other side. His eyes close once more to fall back asleep. By this point, I am wide awake, so I decide to do something. That something became apparent when I caught a whiff of a horrible scent. Curiously, I lift my arm and sniff only to reel back in disgust.

'When was the last time I showered?!' I lightly gag at my stench, putting my arm down, so I wouldn't have to inhale it.

'Why did no one tell me?' I sigh, shaking my head at my own negligence. I leave the bedroom without another thought. Once I'm in the bathroom, I shut the door behind me before turning on the water. I put the temperature on a suitable setting before shedding the clothes I borrowed. I go inside the shower and am instantly pulled into the warm embrace of the water. About five minutes into washing, I realize that I was stupid enough not to grab a towel or clothes before coming in here.

'God, I'm a fucking idiot.' I groan, throwing my head back to further express my frustration.

'This is going to be embarrassing.' I swallow my pride before shouting out my friend's name.

"Mephiles! Mephiles, I kinda need your help with something! It's important!" A few minutes pass before I hear the sound of his heavy footsteps approaching the door through the sound of rushing water.

"What is it?" He sounds beyond annoyed with me. I must've woken him up again. I laugh nervously with a blush on my face.

"It's actually kinda funny. I-"

"You forgot a towel, didn't you?"

"...some clothes would also be nice too," I sheepishly add.

"You didn't even bother to grab yourself clothes!?" He growls in frustration. I could just imagine him running his gloved hands through his black and blue hair.

"What did I get myself into?" He mutters, meaning those words to be kept to himself, but I heard it. A few minutes pass before Mephiles enters the bathroom. I'm thankful that a curtain separates us, but this is still too close for comfort. Enough time passes for him to have left the articles on the sink counter, but I haven't heard the door shut.

I peek around the shower curtain to see what's taking him so long to leave. I find him standing there, leaning against the sink counter, with his arms crossed. With a uncharacteristic stoic look on his face, he stares into my eyes. My cheeks heat up more as my hand moves to shut the water off. As I do this, I don't break eye contact. Maybe I didn't make it clear that I'm coming out now? I find myself confused when he doesn't make a move towards the exit. It was as if he was waiting for something.

"Uhh...thanks. You go now."

"It's nothing I haven't seen before," he says calmly, not even comprehending what is wrong with this picture. If my face gets any redder, I'm gonna be a tomato.

"Well, I- wait! Did you just say 'seen before'? YOU FRICKEN PERVERT!" I grab the nearest object, which was a bottle of shampoo, and chuck it at him. He catches the object with a smirk on his face.

'H-has he seriously 'seen' me before?' I return to hiding behind the curtain so I wouldn't have to look at him anymore. A satisfied chuckle escapes him, and I soon hear the door close.

'Thank god.' I sigh softly as I press my forehead against the shower wall. I then get out, grabbing a grey towel and drying off. I then drop it after grabbing Mephiles' clothes that were left on the sink. After I dress, I exit the bathroom. I find Mephiles standing beside the door. His arms are crossed, and he's leaning against the wall like some kind of edge lord. I raise a brow at this.

"Are you feeling all right? You're not really acting like yourself."

"Of course I'm fine, but you owe me for disturbing my sleep." He gets off the wall and walks towards the kitchen.

'This is going to be a long day, isn't it?'
