Your POV:

A smirk appears on Mephiles' lips as he stares down at me. His thumb lightly traces around the puncture marks he left with the tips of his claws yesterday. It didn't hurt, but it was uncomfortable to have the injury touched.

"It's because of that 'collar' that I can enter your dreams. I can go so far as to send you messages telepathically from a certain range and even read your thoughts. However, as I've mentioned before, I am very weak. It takes quite a bit of energy to do such things."

"You can read my thoughts..." my face pales slightly at the thought of him ever reading my mind. That's...that's just a big invasion of privacy. A light, amused chuckle escapes him.

"Don't worry. I've never once used that feature. I have no need to, so why should I bother wasting the power I have on it?" His smile falls, however, before he speaks again.

"There's something peculiar about you, something that compels me to be with you. I have a theory as to why, but it doesn't quite fit, you see. I never liked humans; in fact, I can still do without them, and yet, there's something about you that's just..." he sighs softly and gently lays me down on the couch again, "different. That feeling has been getting worse and worse over the years, and so I've decided." He smirks again.
