"Will you really be there tomorrow, Winnie?"
"I promised, didn't I?"
"How will you afford it? What if your dad shows up?"
"I don't care. He won't get to me. I won't be alone, Hana. I'll have you."

Having a show again so soon was bothersome, but it was a concert they were putting on themselves, not a showcase. The tickets were sold out already, and the boys would never dream of disappointing ARMY.

As much as he hated to do so, Namjoon asked Jackson to attend with them, mainly so he could look after Winter while they performed. Leaving her alone for so long wasn't a great idea.

Jackson agreed, namely because it was Namjoon who asked him personally. Besides, it wasn't as if he didn't enjoy Winter's company.

He met them backstage, once they arrived. Winter stood in the wings of the stage, wearing a pretty black dress with an ivory lace trim and white sleeves. There were so many people already in the audience. It was impressive, to say the least, that they could fill such a large room when they performed.

"Hey, kitten," Jackson said in English to get her attention. She turned to him, wavy black ponytail swinging as she did. "I got you something."

Jackson brought a headband from behind his back with black cat ears on it that matched her raven hair. He lifted his arms to set it atop her head, fixing her bangs around it for her.

"Aw, you look so cute." He marveled at his own work, laying his hand over his chest where his heart beat underneath.

Winter reached up to run her fingertips over the soft fake fur on the ears. She grinned at him, then dropped her hand. Even though she couldn't see it herself, she trusted his judgement.

"Sorry you have to babysit me," she told him, folding her arms together behind her back. "They don't trust me to stay out of trouble."

"Do you blame them?" He chuckled, knowing her proclivity for being a bit mischievous, much like a cat.

"No, I guess not. But it's bothersome for you, so..." She bowed her head slightly. "Mianhaeyo." When she leaned back, she reached up to resituate her new kitty ears on her head properly.

"No, don't worry about it," he threw an arm around her shoulders. "We can hang out backstage until they're done."

Jackson wasn't particularly fond of the guilty expression she wore. It looked as if she had done something wrong that he didn't know about.

Jackson sat with her for a long time, watching videos on his phone with her. He introduced Winter to some of his music, since she had never listened to it before; he was glad that she at least seemed to enjoy it.

At some point, while Bangtan was still on stage, Winter stood up and flattened the skirt of her dress. Jackson tilted his head to eye her in confusion.

"I need to use the restroom."

"Okay. Hurry back." Namjoon had warned Jackson not to let her out of his sight, but the bathroom was right outside the door. It wasn't like he could follow her in. Besides, surely she wasn't that troublesome. She was too cute.

After she left the room, Jackson sat, waiting, for over twenty minutes before he got up and went to knock on the door to the ladies room. No one answered. He stayed outside, but pushed the door open a little.

"Winter?" Still no answer. Jackson stopped the next stylist to pass and asked her to see if there was anyone in the restroom for him.

When she emerged again, she simply shook her head and went about her business. Jackson cursed under his breath, then went jogging towards down the hallway in search of Winter.
