"Are you sure you weren't on drugs?"
"No, Hana. I wasn't on drugs. It was really him."
"You must have been on drugs."
"I'll show you. He's supposed to be coming back. He promised."***
It was a little difficult explaining to the others what the situation was with Winter. Of course it sounded strange. Hoseok had promised his help to a girl he met at the hospital, a girl who didn't want to live anymore just a day ago.
Jin warned him that he may be getting himself into a complicated situation. Becoming someone's crutch, their reason to live, was no easy task. Hoseok listened to his hyung's good advice, but he already made his promises.
When he found time the next day, Hoseok had Namjoon drive him to the hospital to fulfill the first of his promises: his promise to return.
Namjoon walked by his side, making sure that he didn't need help. It was a relief to see Hoseok putting some pressure on his foot. It seemed to be healing like it should, without any problems.
Namjoon followed Hoseok down the hallways, stopping only when Hoseok arrived at a specific door. He pushed it open, revealing a raven haired beauty sitting on the edge of the hospital bed in the center of the room.
Her face lit up when she saw Hoseok, naturally black eyes seeming a little brighter in that moment. She slid to her feet, then hurried over to them.
"Oppa," She beamed, throwing her arms around his neck. "You came back." The bag that her IV was attached to strained with the distance she moved away from it. Nevertheless, she leaned in further to squeeze Hoseok tightly.
"Oppa?" Namjoon raised a brow as he glanced over at Hoseok.
"Well, she is younger than me." Hoseok patted her back softly. "I promised I would come back, didn't I?" He sighed against her pitch black hair.
"I know," the girl, Winter as Hoseok called her, sighed against his shoulder. "I didn't know if you meant it."
"Winter," Hoseok cleared his throat, "this is Kim Namjoon."
"RM," Winter nodded, sitting back on her heals to look up at Namjoon with those big dark eyes. "He's Hana's favorite."
"Really?" He smiled proudly. "How sweet of her."
"Listen, Winter, I talked to the rest of the members last night. When you're ready to leave here, you can stay with us, just for a little bit. Until I can find a better place."
Winter turned her gaze back to Hoseok, tilting her head to one side to blink at him curiously.
"With you? Are you even allowed to have girls at your house?"
"Technically, no, but it'll only be temporary. Jin said he'll make you dinner your first night," Namjoon answered for him. "We don't mind. Really."
"But you're famous," she said in English, turning towards Namjoon. "Isn't it... strange for me to stay with you? Some random girl from the hospital."
"It's odd, but Hoseok was really determined to bring you home," Namjoon answered back in his own English. She smiled at that.
"You seem to feel a little better today," Hoseok noted, bringing the conversation back to his native language. "The medicine must be helping."
"I left the IV in. Like I promised." She dropped her head a little. It was embarrassing for internationally famous Korean idols to be making sure she took care of herself, but she tried not to think too much about it.
"Good. Thank you." Hoseok reached up to rest his hand on the top of her head, and her cheeks flushed. That was when he noticed there was a little bit more color in her complexion then there was the day before. Just a little more.
