"She must be in the area, Mr. Cary. Her phone says she is."
"You can't narrow it down anymore?"
"No, I'm sorry, sir."
"Alright. I'll have a look."

Namjoon had somehow managed to convinced Hoseok to let him take out to a lunch meeting he had arranged with Jackson Wang.

Hoseok of course wasn't fond of the idea of her being introduced to Jackson of all people, but she gave him little choice. When Winter wanted to do something, she was very well going to do it.

She held onto the sleeve of Namjoon's grey button-up as they walked, looking around like someone who had never seen the city before.

They met Jackson at his favorite little diner at a table in the far back. Winter slid into the booth first, while Namjoon chose to sit on the outside.

"Honestly, Joon, I didn't expect you to bring a girl," Jackson grinned, resting his chin on his hand while he examined her. "Are you dating?"

"No, she's... It's complicated," Namjoon furrowed his brow, trying to think of how he would introduce her.

"I'm a rescue," Winter said in his place. Jackson raised both eyebrows as she raised one side of her plump pink lip and made the cutest purr sound he ever heard in his entire life.

"Aw, you have a kitten," Jackson laughed, sitting back against the booth, taking his bottom lip between his teeth briefly. "How cute. Where'd you find her?"

"At the hospital," she said with an oddly blank expression before Namjoon could reply. "I was a bad kitty. They wanted to put me down."

"Ya!" Namjoon blushed, all sorts of thoughts crossing his mind. "Aish, this girl..." He let out a slow, unsteady breath.

"I like her," Jackson chuckled. "She's more interesting than the girls I've met."

"You have no idea," he muttered, sliding a menu over to Winter. "You should decide on what you want to eat."

"Pick whatever you'd like, kitten. I'm buying," Jackson winked at her. Namjoon groaned inwardly at the blatant flirting between Winter and Jackson. Really, she was something else.

He was surprised that it set a fire in his gut, an uncomfortable burning that he knew all too well to be jealousy.

Lunch went relatively smoothly after their initial meeting. Jackson was more interested in catching up with Namjoon anyways, which worked out for everyone.

Jackson kept his promise and paid for the meal despite Namjoon's protesting. They hugged, shook hands and said their goodbyes.

"Bye, kitten. Be good for Joon," he smirked at the raven-haired beauty at Namjoon's side. She smiled, and suddenly he realized just how pretty she was.

"I'm always good. Aren't I, Namjoon oppa?" She grabbed onto his arm, standing on her toes to look up at the much taller boy.

"No," he rolled his eyes at her, reaching down with his free hand to ruffle her hair. "You're not."

"You've got your hands full, I see," Jackson snorted in amusement. "Take it easy, Joon. See you soon, okay?"

"Alright, man."
