Ch.49

We arrived at a steakhouse place.

We parked and walked in.

Country music was playing in the background.

"Mendes." Diana said to the man at the front desk.

Sylvester is my moms maiden name, that's why shawn has Mendes and I have sylvester.

"Right this way." he smiled and took two menus from the desk.

We followed him through the place and he sat us down in a booth in the corner.

We both took our seats and he handed us both a menu.

"Mahogany will be your server today."

he smiled and introduced the specials, then left.

We both looked at the menus in silence.

Then a beautiful red head girl, with really frizzy, pretty, hair, smiled and came up to our table.

"I'm mahogany, and I'll be your server today." she smiled and showed her pearly white teeth.

I couldn't help but smile because hers is so contagious.

"Are we ready for some drinks?" she asked getting out a pad of paper and a pen.

"I think we are ready to order." Diana said putting down her menu.

"Ok, what will it be?" she said clicking the top of her pen getting ready to write .

"I'll have a Dr. Pepper, and the the classic sirloin medium rare." I said and she wrote it down.

Diana ordered the same thing, but with an iced tea.

"Ok it'll be out in a second. I'll take your menus." she smiled and took them from our hands.

"So, how are you doing... you know with all that has been happening In our life lately.." Diana said and instantly panicked.

"I'm sorry I-"

"No no it's fine. really. I'm actually doing pretty good," I smiled and she let out a quick breath of relief.

"Ok, good. I'm glad." she smiled back and put her napkin on her lap.

Mahogany came back with a tray of food, and our drinks.

We started eating, and talking in between bites.

We finished and mahogany came to take away our plates.

"Any desert for you tonight?"

I looked at Diana, and we both shook our heads no.

I was stuffed.

"Ok here's your check." she left it on the table and took our dishes away.

"I've got it." I said taking the check.

"You sure?"

I nodded putting my card in the booklet, then signing my name.

"Where do you get all of your money? you just barely got a job." Diana asked.

"My mom passed, so I get a check every month with $200, and it's been a couple months." I said

mahogany took the check, then came back with my card, so we left.

When we arrived home and hugged eachother.

I went up to bed and Cameron was already asleep, again.

I changed and got into bed.
