Keith
I wake up in the morning feeling sick. Another terrible day to live. Apart from being athletic, my life completely sucks! I try to make the best of it, but it's impossible! I go to the bathroom to take a shower, but James is already there! That's bad news because he always takes at least half an hour to shower. His record was two hours! I forget it and just decided to put on school clothes instead. Unfortunately, no one could do the laundry yesterday so I had to put on yesterday's dirty clothes. At least they weren't that dirty. It could be worse, and it usually is. I head downstairs for breakfast. Oh no. I see Katlyn is making it! She tries hard to be a good cook and her dream is to be on Master Chef, but it's obvious she's getting nowhere. Everyone hates her meals! That's why we don't have guests anymore. "Plate up Keith!" she calls. "I made us all eggs and bacon!" I take a look at my plate. I feel bad for it. The eggs look like expired milk and the bacon is looks like it's made of styrofoam. I take a deep breath and just swallow it all down. Take it from me, don't even taste it! After a poisonous breakfast, I get my bag, but something doesn't look right about it. Then, I hear the diabolical laughter of my little sister. "Riley! What did you do!" I yelled. "I pranked you! I pranked you!" she shouts back. Riley drew all over my backpack with her markers, hopefully not permanent ones. Even though she's already nine years old, Riley acts like she's a six year old, and pranks every person in the house. The worst prank was when she dumped a bucket of water on my bed and me when I was asleep. And I'm not the only sibling in my family that has to live like this, we all do. I let out a heavy sigh, put on my coat, and head out the door. Now all I have to do is survive school, which is probably even worse. When I make it to school before Paige and Declana, I decide to play basketball with some boys in my class. We play together for awhile, and stop just before the first school bell rings. "Let's meet up after school to play some more," suggests Ethan, one of the boys. "Can I come too?" I ask him. Ethan is one of the head boys in our little basketball league, he's most important. Girls just don't get it. "Um, no," Ethan answers with a grin. "Go do something with that cousin of yours, I'm sure she'll invite you!" Ethan walks off laughing and the other boys follow him. And if you thought that was bad, here comes the worst. Living with my so-called friend. I mean Paige is not that bad, but I also have to bare the rat Declana. Today's one of those days that I feel a fight coming on, but I'm out of energy so I guess I'll just walk and talk with them. Paige and Declana walk over to me. "So, how are you?" Paige asks. "Not great," I reply. "Did those mean boys on the basketball team pick on you again?" Declana wonders. As much as I don't want to, I nod my head. "I'm gonna go talk some sense into them!" remarked Declana and went to Ethan. As she walked, she turned her head and smiled at me. A different kind of smile. A nice kind of smile. She waved her luscious hair back and forth. And I noticed something about her I've never seen before.
