Waiting Once Again

Declana

I skip home pretty pumped. I couldn't wait to go to Keith's house on Sunday! His siblings are very fun, I don't even know why he hates them sometimes? Anyway I had a great dinner and went up to my room. Buster was flying around it again. But this time, Billy was barking too. "What's the matter with you guys today?" I asked, but then I knew the reason. I saw another blue rose! I forgot it was Friday. It was so sparkly, as if from a fairytale. So majestic, and to think, they just appear in my room every other day! I took the rose and put it on my shelf with the others, and opened the note.

I like sports
What can I say
Because basketball
Is what I play

This clue is super short, and how does it help me at all? About all of the boys in my class like to play basketball, except Ernest. I guess I have to narrow it down to them. But this isn't as easy as you may think it is, how would you feel if the events of my amazing life happened to you. Think about it. Anyway, after a whole week of school and blue roses, I needed a long nap. I put on my pyjamas, even if it still was five o'clock in the afternoon, and slept like a baby. Saturday was short, and quick. I went for a walk outside and all. That's about it. But I woke up on Sunday as the most energetic person ever! Too bad this is not my kind of reaction on a school day, but whatever. Keith told me to come over at two o'clock in the afternoon, after lunch. Unfortunately the day seemed to go much slower than Saturday. I almost went insane from boredom! When it was time to eat lunch though, I ate as quickly as I could. Soon after, it was finally two o'clock! I grabbed the project and rushed to Keith's house. I knocked on the door. No one answered. That was odd. Then I knocked again. Katlyn opened it. "Hello Katlyn, can I see Keith please. We have to work on our science project," I stated. "I knew it!" Katlyn whisper-shouted. Then looked at me. "Oh! Sorry. But Keith isn't home right now." My heart sank like a rock. "B-but he must be. He promised me we'd work on our project together at his house," I replied. "I told him that to, but he insisted to go to the Sports Centre with Ethan and the rest of his basketball team," answered Katlyn. I stood up straight. "The Sports centre? With Ethan?" I asked. "He said he'd be back before you came, but apparently he's not," remarked Katlyn. "Oh," I said on the outside. But on the inside I was burning up with pure fury! He doesn't even like Ethan! He promised me he'd help me this time! Do I have to do this stupid project by myself again? "You can come in if you want. It's not your fault Keith didn't show up again," stated Katlyn. "Thanks," I replied and walked inside their house. As much as I love it in here, it just wasn't the same knowing that your best friend ditched you for a bully! He did always want to play at the Sports Centre but still, it hurts. I went into their backyard with all his siblings, and we played soccer all together to make me feel better. I like soccer. Especially in the mud and the cool fresh air, which they had plenty of. After that we played some boardgames and had lots of fun. But the only thing that could really make me feel better would be Keith. Apologizing to me.
