Declana
I just don't understand, why doesn't Keith want to hang out with me anymore? I didn't do anything wrong, did I? He just became friends with Ethan, and that somehow effected Keith's perspective of me. Come to think of it I'm a great detective! But that doesn't explain why I still can't figure out who keeps sending me the blue roses, even with all the clues I've been given. With a heavy sigh and a nervous look, I get ready for school. This time I came late, as usual, I've dropped of Margaret and took Billy for a walk. I walked into the schoolyard, humbly. Keith walked out of the school, with Ethan of course. I waved to them. Keith saw but didn't respond. I kept on walking, with grief. I could tell that Paige saw me. I turned to her. She stared at me. Then, she shrugged and walked away. I deserved that. Now I finally understood how Paige felt! When Keith and I became best friends we left her out of everything because we had a lot of catching up to do. Now the same thing has happened, but with Keith and Ethan, and me. But what if it happens again, but with Ethan becoming someone else's best friend, leaving Keith in the dust! It wouldn't happen so quickly, but it's highly possible to happen. Ethan never sticks around with only one friend, no matter how much they have in common! I had to warn Keith, but he wouldn't listen to me! I still had to try. When class was over, I went up to Keith and Ethan on the break. "Hey, Keith, can I talk to you for a second?" I asked. Keith groaned, rolled his eyes, and turned to me. "What do you need?" he scowled. I whispered, "Just saying, Ethan doesn't usually stick around with one person so if you need anything-" "No! Me and Ethan are friends now. Best friends! And we agree to stay that way. You just have to except that the are more people who can be friends with me than just you! And if you can't except that, then leave!" he yelled back. I jumped back in horror. Keith has turned into a monster! I turned away and walked as far as I could from them. It was no use. When school was finally over I had to bare concert rehearsal. I barley sang. Then when that was over I ran back home as fast as I could, ran up the stairs and fell onto my bed. I cried. I was hurt. I felt stupid. Though all I really felt, was sorrow. Maybe it was time to move on? I looked around for something to do. Then, in the corner of my eye, I saw something blue and shiny. I wasn't quite in the mood for mysteries but I'll do anything to get my mind off Keith. I picked up the note and opened it.
At sometimes I'm so horrible
You don't even recognize me
But since you are my bestest friend
I owe you an apologyI know "bestest" is not a word so this guy clearly makes spelling errors and nonsense words. Even though I have a hunch what "bestest" means. Still, this is pretty heartfelt, but the notes aren't the ones who owe me an apology. Keith does. Paige's Easter get-together is this Sunday, but I don't think I'll come. I don't feel comfortable around Keith anymore. I'll sit this one out, then tell Paige it's not her. It's me.
