Easter Weekend

We had Friday off school because it was Good Friday, but nothing good for me. I just spent the cold day inside, all alone. Finally it was Saturday, and the last time I could decide to go to Paige's Easter party tomorrow or not. I didn't want to upset Paige or something, but I really didn't want to see Keith. It's quite a while since Keith, Paige and I have all been together, I guess that's why Paige came up with this whole thing in the first place, but I don't want to be the one to ruin that. Still, I have to stay true to my emotions, and I know Paige will understand. She always does. Hopefully. I lounge on my bed as I moan heavily. Buster flies by me and then lands beside me, snuggling. I smile, for my first time today, as he lets me pet his silky soft feathers. Then, I doze out for moment and then wake up startled. Buster already left, but instead, I saw a blue rose and the note lying beside me. How did that cat sneak in so quietly? I guess that's why he got the job. I open up the brand new note.

Parties are great
Easter's good too
But it's not a good party
Without someone like you

I have to say these notes become more flattering by the day. But why would the person who wrote this talk about a party? Unless they were going to one! I just had a mental breakthrough! Whoever is behind this once and for all is attending a party, but I know that now I'm not because of "reasons". Still, who could be going to a party this weekend? I'm sure there are plenty of Easter parties around town but this particular person is probably going to one that I know of. However the only party I know of this weekend is the one that Paige is hosting. Could the person behind this be attending Paige's party? I was really confused, but let's call this "unqualified progress".  But could Paige have invited some people that I don't know she invited? She said it would only be a small get-together but now I'm not so sure. I'll have to ask her later. But for now, at least I have a few suspects.

Paige

It was finally Sunday, Easter, and most importantly, my little party. I told my guests to come around noon and then we can start. I know this won't be the "party of the year" that everybody will be talking about, but the point is to get me Keith and Declana back together again, which I will make sure of. The start of the day was normal, lonely, damp. But when the clock struck twelve I felt more excited than I've been in a long time! First Keith came with his siblings, I love them. We played some board games but Keith didn't seem to talk to me the whole time, he just leaned against the wall. He's been to my house about a million times, nothing new or exciting. After a couple minutes, Allison arrived. I was very surprised she arrived much earlier than Declana did, if Declana will arrive at all. I don't know why she wouldn't though but the party seemed so lifeless without her. Keith tried to talk to Allison a few times but I don't even know why he tried. "Hey Allison," says Keith, walking toward her. "Hi," Allison replies. "So, ummm, hows the weather going?" asked Keith. I could tell that he regretted that. Allison stared at him like he was crazy. "Umm, good, I guess," she remarked and then walked away. As you can see, a fail every time, and there's plenty where that came from! After lunch we went to the beach, but Declana still wasn't there! I was worried. Has she chose not to come? Has something happened to her? Keith was happy about that though, or at least I thought he was. He didn't seem to care really, or talk with me at all, no matter how much times I've tried to encourage him! Allison left early, since she had nothing to do. She did the right thing. I would've left too, if I weren't the host. So much for a "get-together". I'm starting to think I'm really losing all my friends after all. So is this it?
