Declana

I wake up with a lump in my throat. I felt very tried, and didn't want to go to school. But sadly, I had no choice but to get ready. I get out of my bed, oh I'd do anything to just lie in it all day. I head to my washroom for a shower to wake me up. It does the trick. Now I just feel wet and still a bit tired. I put on the first clothes I see, which aren't the best according to my fashion sense, but will do for casual days like today. After I was dressed, I combed my flowing hair and went downstairs to the kitchen for breakfast. Margaret runs around the living room. I don't know how she does it, how is she always hyper, wide awake, and happy. Believe it or not, I'm a bit jealous of her. Billy comes to the table, as if unaware his breakfast is in a bowl on the floor. Buster sits right next to him. When they first met, they'd do anything to frighten or tear each other apart, but now, they're best friends. I eat a warm and welcoming breakfast, I suddenly don't feel that bad anymore. Maybe I was just hungry. After breakfast I take my beautiful backpack, attach Billy to his leash, take Margaret, and go out the door. Before school, it's always my job to take Billy on a walk, take Margaret to her grade two class, and then go to my middle school myself, which is why I'm always not so early. "Bye Margaret! Have a nice day!" I call to her. "Bye bye Declana! Bye Billy!" she responds and then goes to class. I smile. I love my little sister. But I've heard at school, she gets bullied a lot. The bullies say she's dumb and sometimes even stupid. Oh if I ever saw them I'd slap them in their faces! Which is what I've always wanted to do in this next bit. After I take Billy home, I walk into our school yard. "Hi Paige!" I say to my best friend. "Hi Declana. Keith should come over any second now from playing basketball with those dumb guys. I don't know how he does it, they make fun of him so much!" replied Paige. Keith. The sneaky, lowdown, scoundrel. I hate him. Sometimes, on miraculous days, we can get along for two seconds. But normally, we're out for each others blood! I don't know how Paige is friends with that guy, but it's probably only because he's her cousin. And so the jerk comes over. "Hi Paige, hi stink-face," he remarks. See what I mean. You don't know what to expect from this guy, so you gotta have a comeback. "Hey rat-butt, enjoy your sleep in the sewer?" I ask. "So what? And after all that sleep, I still smell better than, your face!" he shouts. I'm dealing with a loser. "That's not even a comeback, or funny. You, you don't know how to do this do you?" I reply, calmly. "Why should you know, you're the one who's dumb," stated Keith. That crosses the line."Oh really? I bet I could even play basketball better than you!" I yell. "Oh really? Prove it stink-face!" he cries. "It'll be in your face rat-butt!" I shout back. I put myself up to the challenge, but failed. Everybody laughed at me. Basketball, isn't really my strong suit. Finally it was time for class, when I can recover from the pain. But even in class the teacher keeps asking me about very elementary stuff, as if even they think I'm dumb. And that's how my whole day goes. Insulted, challenged, laughed at or victorious. But little did I know, it would be the last regular one.
