A Tale of Three Perspectives

Declana

I felt pretty relived I didn't go to Paige's party. That's a load of pressure off! Not because of Paige, (in fact I felt pretty bad I didn't go because of her) but I really just don't even want to think about Keith these days! We had Monday off school too, it was pretty casual. After I ate a lunch with an almost clean conscience. After which, I returned to my bedroom, where I found but another glimmering blue rose lying right there on my bed. I picked up the note and read it.

I don't think that I did see
Your angel face at the party
For isn't it oh so boring
To sing a song you're not singing

I understood that last fraise partially, but I just think the person is running out of rhymes. But whoever they are they noticed I didn't attend a party yesterday, and they seemed to have missed me. Still, they must've been a person at the party in the first place! Oh who am I kidding? This is way too complicated for me! I woke up on Tuesday feeling slightly paranoid (you know why). But I headed to school with my head up high.

Keith

I had to wake up early in the morning for basketball practice before school. As much as I love waking up before all my siblings so I can actually enjoy my mornings, I felt slightly unpleasant without the slightest idea why. When I finally got ready, I grabbed my backpack and ran out the door. I met Ethan and all the other boys already in the gym, waiting for me. I high-fived each and every one of them. I guess hanging out with Ethan a lot lately has increased my popularity level about five times as much. Now practically everyone in the entire school knows me! After some basic drills and a couple games, the coach announced that our grand tournament will be tomorrow, so no school! Everybody on the team cheered vigorously, except me, who just faked it. As much as I really wanted to join the crowd, a small but powerful part inside of me, kept thinking of Declan for some strange reason. About our science project that I never even bothered doing. About our friendship that I broke! About her part in the Spring Fling Concert tomorrow too. How I won't even get to see her. I realized I acted like a real jerk, but only for about two minutes. Ethan then came to me and ruined my self-reflection, not that I even cared after that. When practice was over, it was already time for class.

Paige

I pondered the reason Declana didn't show up at my Easter party all night and all Monday. It just didn't make any sense! I've noticed Declana hasn't been hanging out with Keith much recently. Could this be because of him? Or the worst case scenario, could it be because of me? I barley got any sleep that night, so I was exhausted on Tuesday morning, as always. The only thing to brighten my sprits was the Spring Fling Concert which will be tomorrow! But other than that I had some serious business to attend to. I got ready and got all my stuff and walked out of my pleasant, warming house. School was my destination. Once I got there, I saw Declana sitting on a bench, all alone in the schoolyard. I knew what I had to do. I walked up to Ernest. We needed to talk. "Ernest. I don't know exactly what, but I have a hunch something weird is going on between Keith and Declana. Do you think it's finally time to put our plan into action?" I asked. Ernest thought for a minute. "I suppose we could try at the next break after class. You know what to do. You talk with Declana. I'll talk with Keith," replied Ernest. "Good," I stated. It seemed everything was falling right into place. Just like Ernest said it would be.
