I left Keith's house sort of smiling, I mean it was pretty fun hanging out with his siblings. But the extreme agony of being fooled, betrayed, and ditched by my best friend for a jerk stayed inside me, eating up my emotions. I didn't even do our science project, and I'm planning to, not by myself. Did he like Ethan now? Are they friends? Best friends? Those thoughts made me shiver with fear. A part of my insisted that he'd never leave me on purpose and that all of this is a misunderstanding, but another part of me, the darker part, said that he meant of this to happen. I tried to ignore both and focus on something else. I came home, exhausted. I plopped on our couch and watched TV. The sports channel was on, so I just watched. And after the commercial break, the basketball tournament in the Sports Centre was on. Our hometown team was playing against another team I don't know. But Keith knows all the basketball teams in our country, which is pretty cool. And right there, in the crowd of fans he sat, cheering on our team. I don't know what I did, I smiled, but then I frowned, all at the same time. This was weird, so I turned the TV off and went up to my room to get another nap in. Recently I've had a lot of daytime naps, and this is gonna be one of them. As I climb up the stairs, I hear a faint noise. It was coming from my room. I rushed up. Then I slowly opened up my bedroom the door a little bit. I saw something walking inside, but it wasn't Buster or Billy. This was different. It looked like some dark shadow, holding something blue that shined in the darkness. Suddenly, a billion thoughts raced through my head and without thinking I turned on the light and yelled, "It's you!" When I did, both me and the mysterious figure were quite surprised. It was a cat! The cat stared and me in shock, dropped the blue rose and the note and jumped out of my window. I ran across my room and looked out that window. I saw the cat running across the street, behind a house, and out of sight. At first I was disappointed that I got so close to catching who was behind this and failed. But now that I think of it, I'm getting really close to finding who really is sending my these messages! Now I have a bonus clue I wasn't suppose to know, the deliverer, which in this case is the cat. All I have to do, is make a plan when the cat shows up to deliver the blue rose again, and when it leaves, I'll follow it to it's master who is the head of this operation. Boom! Mystery solved. In the meantime, I will read the notes and store the roses that the messenger brings me every other day and come on more step closer to getting to the bottom of it. I read the note that was delivered to me now.
I promise to fix my mistakes
I know that I could
But when someone interferes
I don't do what I shouldThat was pretty deep, little people can confess themselves like that. But then again, it's a very broad note, that sort of applies to most people. Of course to some on my mind more than others. Still, the thing really running through my mind was the cat and who it belong to. The only person I know who owns a cat is Paige, but I couldn't get a good look at the cat so I don't know if it's Claire or not. But even if it was Claire, what would Paige have to do with this, it's not like she's like my secret admirer or something. And not even all the clues match her, she doesn't even like basketball, and she really stinks at poetry. It's almost impossible to be her, she's my friend. But now, it seems like anything is possible. Friend or not. Anyway I will find out who it is on Tuesday, when the next blue rose and note come in. I will find out once and for all!
