A Double Sided Story

When the bell rang I went inside, and I saw our music teacher right in front of me! Talk about convenience! "Um, Ms. Kann, can we possibly move our Spring Fling Concert rehearsal after school tomorrow to some other time please? It's just that my family has plans for that night but I don't want to miss any of the practices too," I explained. Hopefully she falls for it, Ms. Kann is very gullible. "I don't know Declana, I'll have to think about that," she replied. I'm not taking my chances. "Please! Please Ms. Kann, please!" I exclaimed. I made my signature adorable face, no adult can resist. "Okay! Okay Declana, as you wish, it'll be tomorrow at recess," stated Ms. Kann. "Thank you Ms. Kann! You're the best!" I called back to her as she walked away into the hallway. See what I mean? Works on everyone! I skipped merely to class. After class we had a break. I saw Keith, alone in the hallway. I walked up to him. Time to make things right. "Keith, buddy. Listen, I'm so sorry I didn't want to hear you out before, I was just disappointed, not angry. And it does hurt me when go out with your friends and break the promises you make to me, and leave me alone to do the project by myself, but all I really want is for us to stay best friends," I admit. "Don't be sorry Declana! I deserved that. And you deserve to be angry at me. I treated you like a real jerk! I ditched you for some game with guys I don't even like! I owe you a lot, and I promise, for real this time, I will never let you down again," replied Keith. I slightly smiled. "I get it, you always wanted to play at the Sports Centre, and I saw you on TV!" I exclaimed. "Really! But still, even the Sports Centre will not come come between us again. So, we're cool?" asked Keith. "We're cool," I shrugged. We hugged it out. Now, I felt complete.

Keith

I'm so happy I'm cool with Declana now, that lifts a ton of pressure off my shoulders. Now after school, I can go to basketball practice with a clear conscience. However I will try my best to avoid any bad conflict or influences there because recently most of the bad things in my life were starting there, especially with Ethan. I say "bye" to Declana after school and make my way to the gym. I come in, with a spark and smiling. I high five some other boys, and then Ethan too, surprisingly. We play a couple rounds of basketball and I excelled in all of them! Must be my good attitude! And for the first time, me and Ethan played well together too. Like friends or something. When we had a break, Ethan and the boys came up to me. I'm pretty sure since I played super in these rounds, Ethan got jealous and is going to try and find my weak spot again. I tried not to look at him. "Hey dude! I saw you out there, you were awesome! You know, you're one of us now," stated Ethan. I was in shock. It's awfully rare when Ethan is nice to me, but never has he complemented my basketball skills! "Um, thanks Ethan," I replied. "Hey, don't be so modest, you're our friend. Why don't you say we put the darned past behind us and start anew! You and me 'kay?" suggested Ethan. Let me reprise what I said before, now I'm really shocked! Why would he ever want to be friends with me? But I'm not saying it's a bad idea, a bunch of my life has changed by now. Why not this change too? If you get to know him, Ethan's a pretty nice guy after all. "Sure," I shrugged. We both smiled and went back to playing our favourite game. In fact, the whole practice was just amazing. I even got Ethan's phone number! Not that that's a big deal or anything, but still. I bet Declana will be so happy for me once she knows that we fixed everything! That I'm friends with Ethan now! Boy, I got to get used to saying that.
