"Calm down. Look, I know Ethan is a lot to handle, and if you don't want me to I won't get in the way. Okay?" asked Declana. She was right, it wasn't her fault Ethan is such a jerk. "You're right. Sorry. I was just very angry," I replied. "It's okay Keith," remarked Declana. "Listen, we're a bit behind on our science project. Do you think you can come over to my house tomorrow after school to work on it?" "No problem!" I exclaimed, trying to get back into a good mood. I knew Ethan was just jealous of me that I played so well in the first couple rounds. But he will stop at nothing to be the best basketball player in our grade. So be it! The rest of the day went by fine, pretty normal. At the end of the day, our coach called the boys basketball team for a quick meeting before we go home. "As you know, we will be playing the most important basketball tournament in our school history, so we must have lots of practice. Along with our Saturday practice and morning Tuesday and Thursday practices, we will now also have practice after school on Wednesdays, Mondays, and Fridays. That's all for today, you may go home now," stated the coach. The other boys ran out the doors, I just walked. Then, realized something. I promised Declana I'd come over to her house tomorrow after school to work on our science project! I dashed out of the school grounds but it was too late. Declana already left. I can't do anything now, I guess I'll tell her tomorrow. The next morning was definitely not as amazing as my last one. I wasn't quite in a good mood at all, and I was pretty gloomy all day long. Thankfully, school ended fast. "See you after dinner!" called Declana as she waved goodbye to me. "Bye!" I called back. I headed to the gym, for basketball practice. And like an old computer, I slowly processed what Declana said to me five minutes ago. I gasped on the inside. I forgot to tell her I have practice!
Declana
I came home feeling very good and excited. We only have until the end of the week to complete the first part of our science project. I eat a very jolly dinner and then go upstairs to my room to prepare for Keith's arrival. Then, I waited, and waited, and waited. After my pure patience ended, I decided to text him. Then call him. He wasn't picking up. He was already an hour late! I just started working on my project, with or without him. It's tricking doing it alone, especially when you know your partner didn't show up when you told him to. I don't know if I'm more confused, disappointed, or angry right now. I was getting very distracted from work, mainly because Buster was flying around my room like crazy. "Buster this isn't a good time for games!" I shouted. Then I looked at the other side of the room. Just what I needed. Another blue rose! I didn't feel like working anyway, I might as well focus on solving the mystery of the mysterious blue roses that mysteriously keep showing up in my room. I picked up the note beside it and read it.
