Lexa's POV
I walked down the stairs, tears streaming down my cheeks. I could still hear Clarke sobbing upstairs, and I all I wanted to do was comfort her, but I couldn't. I was the problem. I got to my truck, and I drove down the road a little ways and stopped my truck. I wasn't sure why, until I started sobbing. I shouldn't have made the deal with Cage, I should have just left, with Clarke. I wasn't just sad, I was angry. At myself, and at Clarke for not letting me explain. I got out of the truck, pulling my sword with me. All I did for the next hour was kill walkers, hearing the squelch of each one as I plunged my sword into their brains. I knew Clarke was watching me through the cameras, I just knew. I stopped what I was doing, looking straight at the cameras, mouthing an "I'm sorry". I then turned and walked back to the truck, driving back to the place I was in charge of. I opened the garage door and parked my truck as Lincoln came running over. "Where were you?" he asked, looking frantic. "I was making plans with Clarke about saving her people," I said. "But the deal," said Lincoln looking at her. "She found out," I said with a sigh. Lincoln could see the pain in my eyes and walked away. I had told Lincoln about the deal, and the factory people's plan. He begged me to save Octavia, one of Clarke's people. I finally gave in and let him do it, but she's not allowed to leave the facility. I got out of the truck and walked inside, going straight to my bedroom ignoring anyone who tried to talk to me. The prison was a pretty tall building, and I could see the building Clarke was in. I continued to just stare out the window, wondering what she was doing, and if she really hated me now. I rememberred when Clarke and I talked over the walkies, and decided to try and draw. As Clarke had done, I began to draw an eye.
The eye took three hours to draw, she was trying extremely hard to make it perfect, exactly like Clarke's eyes. She was about to finish, she just had to combine the right shades of blue to get her perfect sky blue eye color. She used the last shade of blue she could find in a box of crayons, and it was perfect. She tore the piece of paper from the notebook and put it in her pocket. I stood up and walked over to the window, wanting to look at the building again. It was dusk, just barely enough light left to see. But Lexa saw something. Far down the road behind Clarke's building, she could see something moving. Not just something. Walkers. A hoard of them. To make sure, she grabbed a pair of binoculars and scanned the area. Walkers, hundreds of them-maybe thousands. Lexa grabbed the radio and practically flew down the stairs. "Clarke, you have to answer, please pick up the walkie, we're all in danger. There's a hoard coming, and I'm coming to get you right now please be ready when I get there. And please-please be listening right now," Lexa begged into the walkie. She reached the 3rd floor and ripped a phone off of the dial, pressing a few buttons before speaking over the PA to the whole building. "Ladies and gentlemen, there is a hoard coming. Thousands of walkers. We all need to separate, we can't stay together. Please, our designated meeting spot will be in California, everyone keep at least one radio in each of your groups. May we meet again," Lexa finished and ran down to the first floor using the radio. "Lincoln, Indra, Echo, Emori, Luna, Roan, Ontari, Bryce, and Octavia, please report to your vehicles in the garage, and bring anything you may need. You're in my group," I said. I waited impatiently pacing on the bottom floor as people rushed past me out of the building. Finally, all 9 of them joined me in the garage.
"We'll take 3 trucks, and one van. We're picking up people from the other building, so please move fast and follow me," I hopped into my red truck, Octavia, and Lincoln right behind me in the bed of the truck. I opened the small window, so I'd be able to speak to them. I started the truck and drove off towards the hoard, towards Clarke. Please don't let the hoard be there already, please let Clarke had been listening. I drove as fast as I could and when we got to the building Clarke and her mother were outside waiting for us, and I could hear the hoard nearing closer. "Get in!" I yelled at them and they piled into the bed of the truck with Octavia and Lincoln. "Octavia?" Clarke asked curiously. "How-" "I saved her, I was told about the deal and I took her back to our building to save her," Lincoln said quickly. Clarke just stared off into the distance, and I stopped listening and pressed on the gas pedal as hard as I could, speeding away from the hoard.
We've been driving for about 8 hours, and everyone in the back of the truck was asleep. I and the other drivers of the vehicles kept each other awake by talking to each other through the walkies. We were long gone from the hoard by now, almost in California where the designated meeting spot was. Seeing the sun pulling itself over the horizon, I pulled over to the side of the road. "Why are we stopping?" Echo asked. "We all need rest, and we need to make a trip to find gas because we're all almost empty," I said. "Wake up the others and allow yourselves to rest for a few hours, but we have to wake up soon after to get gas," I put the walkie down and turned to the small window so I could see the bed of the truck. "Hey, we're almost in California," I told them and Clarke and Octavia groaned and slowly woke up. I doubt Clarke is over the whole deal yet, I hope she can forgive me. Clarke got out of the bed of the truck, going to sit in the front seat next to Lexa. She sat in the passenger's seat, silently. I was the first to speak. "Clarke, I'm extremely sorry for what I did. I will do everything in my power to get your people back, and I promise we will get them back," I promised her. She just looked at me and spoke in her morning voice, which I already was obsessed with. "I forgive you, Lexa. I overreacted, and I know you'll keep your promise to get my people back," she paused for a moment, before continuing in a confused tone. I was extremely relieved that Clarke forgave me, and I sat there grinning like an idiot while staring at her. "All the other drivers are asleep, why not you?" she asked.
"I don't need sleep, I want to be on the first mission to go get more gas to continue later, and besides I'm not even tired," I said trying to hold back a yawn. I failed, causing Clarke to laugh making me smile even brighter. I love her laugh. "Get some sleep, I'll wake you for the first mission," Clarke said and I nodded back at her. I leaned my head against the door and slowly drifted off to sleep. As Lexa drifted off to sleep, Clarke Lexa couldn't keep her eyes off of her. She looked so peaceful like the world hadn't become a complete shit storm, and Clarke admired her for that. She continued to just watch her sleep, and Clarke took a notebook and charcoal out of her bag and started to make a sketch of Lexa.
