Lexa's POV
I walk outside of the rest stop to find Abby leaning over Clarke and inspecting her leg. She stands up, looking back at the rest of us.
"Her leg is broken. It's not too bad, it will heal in about a month, possibly two," she explains.
"No, I can't live in this world without being able to use my leg!" Clarke bursts out.
I hate to see her like this so I walk over to her and kneel on the ground, taking her hand in mine. "You're going to be fine. I'll protect you," I tell her.
"Thank you Lexa. But I also want to be able to protect myself. What if you're fighting walkers and I'm stuck with one, not able to move because this fucking leg!" she yells.
"Clarke-"
"I'll be there for you," Bellamy cuts me off.
That really pissed me off, but it's only Bellamy. Clarke told me she thinks of him as a brother, nothing more. Then it hits me that we're potentially very close to a hoard of walkers with no shelter to protect us.
"Clarke, you know I care about you and that I'd never do anything to hurt you, but we have to get going. There's a hoard really close to where we are right now, and I'm surprised we haven't run into any other walkers yet," I try to explain to her and everyone else.
"She's right," Raven says as she steps forward. "We have to go right now."
Bellamy walks over to Clarke, gently lifting her off of the ground. "Well then, let's get moving."
3 hours later
Walking through the woods isn't that bad while the walkers that previously occupied them were hanging around with the rest of the hoard. It was almost peaceful as we all walked through the woods, Abby and Bellamy talking about Clarke, Octavia and Raven talking about god knows what. And I am walking by myself while Bryce is next to Abby listening to their conversation.
Raven and Octavia come up on either side of me and walk with me.
"Hey, how's it going with you and Clarke?" Octavia asks while rubbing my shoulder.
"I'm not really sure to be honest. We don't really get the chance to spend time with each other with the world how it is. I still would do anything for her though, even if it involves something bad. I would risk my life for her, but I don't know how to tell her that or even when to tell her that. I don't know if she'll be freaked out, or what her reaction will be. So basically I have no idea how it's going with Clarke and I," I shrug my shoulders and look at the ground.
"Hey, I've known Clarke for so long and with the way she just looked at you back there when you said you cared about her, I think she'd like to hear the stuff you want to tell her." Raven tells me.
I just nod and continue to look at the ground. That's when I hear a twig snap somewhere around us that I knew didn't come from one of us. I instantly unsheathe a sword that Lauren gave me and cautiously turn around. That's when I see seven people emerge from behind trees. Luna, Lincoln, Ontari, Anya, Echo, and two other teenage boys come out. The rest of our group is now turned around as Octavia runs toward Lincoln, and I head for Anya and Luna. The two girls both wrap me into a hug at the same time, and I can't stop the smile that spreads across my face.
I pull back from the hug to see Raven and Clarke's interactions with each boy.
"Murphy? Didn't know an asshole like you could survive this long," Raven says to one of them.
I look over to see Clarke's face with shock all over it.
"F-Finn?" she asks. The boy runs over to Clarke and places a kiss on her lips while Bellamy still holds her. Clarke tried to pull back, I could see it. She just couldn't because she was in Bellamy's arms. Finn tried to get more intimate and started to open his mouth, which was what sent me over the edge.
I stormed up behind him and grabbed him by the hair, yanking him back and watching as he fell to the ground. "Don't fucking touch her," I pretty much growl.
Raven also came over and slapped him in the face, for a reason that I don't know.
"Lexa," Clarke tried to get my attention but I ignored her. She never broke up with Finn after what happened at her place
I walk behind the rest of the group. Anya, Raven, Luna, and Octavia all seem to be getting along in front of me. I don't want to face Clarke, but I need to know the truth. I continue to walk in silence, trying to get the thought of Lauren's death out of my head.
"Guys stop walking," Bellamy says suddenly.
We all stop and wait for him to elaborate.
"There's a place up ahead. Maybe it has supplies, it could even be safe enough to get some rest," he says.
I can see Clarke looking at me while she lays in his arms.
I'm quick to step up because I want to go in there and hopefully find that its safe for all of us. Its a pretty large brick building, and the doors look pretty secure. I unsheathe my sword and go to the side of the door. I open it slightly and then tap on the door loudly with my sword to get any walkers attention.
They walk out one by one, looking for the source of the noise. While they're doing that, I quickly plunge my sword into their heads, killing them instantly. There were about 5 of them, but now there are none.
I look inside the doors to make sure that's all of them, and I tell the group to come over.
