Lexa's POV

We sat there like that for about ten minutes before the girl pulled away wiping the tears from her face. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that," Lauren said. "No, no you did the right thing. Everyone needs to cry, and I just happened to be here for you. It's okay," I said. The girl smiled at me and continued to talk. "So you heard me singing?" she asked in a nervous tone. "Yes, it was beautiful. I've never heard someone sing like that before," I said. The girl looked at me for a moment as if she was contemplating something. "That's how I dealt with the loss of my parents. That's how I've survived alone this whole time," Lauren said. "Why are you telling me this?" "Because you're nice to me and no one has been like this towards me. I started to act as a walker because something happened that I'd rather not talk about," she said looking nervously at the floor. "If you ever need to tell someone something, I'm that someone. Okay?" I asked looking at the girl. She nodded and looked up at me. "When can I get out of this room and get better clothes?" I laughed and then responded. "Now, actually. I can show you around and introduce you to everyone. You'll be on watch with me tonight, is that okay?" She just nodded and stood up to follow me. I walked to the door and opened it. "Let's get you some clothes first," I walked up the stairs making sure the girl was still behind me. I led her to a small room where we kept supplies like clothes and batteries. "You can choose anything you want, make sure it's comfortable. I'll wait here," She walked into the shelved areas and began to look around. It'd been about 10 minutes when she came out again.

She was wearing a green and black checkered flannel with dark blue jeans and a pair of boots. I smiled at her choice of clothing as that's what I usually wore. "Can I have my sheaths and weapons back?" she asked in a small voice. "Of course, follow me," I led her out of the room and up the stairs further to where we kept the weapons. "I'm not sure what's yours, but you probably do," I said. The girl looked at all the weapons and started to take a number of sheaths and daggers down. She took a large katana down with the initials L.L. "What's your last name?" "Larosa," the girl said without looking up. She was tying the sheaths to the waist of her jeans and put the katana's sheath across her back. She finished and looked up at me. "What now?" she asked. "Well, I guess it's time you meet some of my friends," I said. "Do you want to meet everyone at once or separately?" "Separately," she was quick to reply. "Alright let's go," I said pushing the door open and leading her to the control room. When I opened the door, Clarke and Octavia were sitting at a table looking at some small object. "Guys, this is Lauren. Lauren, that's Clarke and that's Octavia," I said pointing at each of the girls as I said their name. "Hey," they said almost in unison. Lauren just waved at them, showing no change in expression. Why does she only show emotion in front of me? "Well, this is the control room where all the cameras are," I said. "Let's continue," I finished leading her back towards the door.

I finished showing Lauren around, and it was almost time for us to go on watch. I went to the front doors and told her to wait there. I ran up the stairs to the control room, wanting to talk to Clarke. I opened the door to find Octavia and Clarke looking at the monitors, but they both stopped and looked at me. "Clarke, can I talk to you?" she stood up and I led her out the door. "Listen, I've wanted to spend time with you all day but I needed to make Lauren feel comfortable, and-" I was stopped by Clarke placing her lips on mine. I kissed back, but it was over sooner than I wanted. "It's okay, Lexa." I nodded. "I want to spend the whole day with you tomorrow, I'll let Lauren go with Octavia." Clarke looked at me and smiled. "Sounds good," I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and ran down the stairs back to Lauren.

"Ready?" I asked. I never found out how she fights or if she even knows how. Surely she must because she's survived on her own for so long. As soon as we got outside, I already saw at least 10 walkers. I fanned out to the right, fighting one walker at a time. I killed three, looking over to watch Lauren. She was fighting three at once, kicking two in the back of the knees and making them fall to the ground while finishing the other. As the walker fell to the ground, she took out another knife and plunged both into either walker's head at the same time. I watched as she took out her katana when another two approached her, simply sliding it through the monsters' necks and doing a final stab through the brain. I was so caught up in watching that I didn't even hear the two walkers behind me. Lauren was looking right at me, putting away her katana. She saw the wakers I didn't behind me and insheathed two knives. Taking one in each hand, she hurled them both past my head and straight into the brains of the walkers. "Holy shit," I breathed, not knowing what to say. The girl ran over to me, asking if I was okay. "I'm fine, it's just-wow," I laughed and the girl smiled at me. "We still have another few hours out here, try not to die again?" she asked in a playful tone. "Whatever you say," I said with a grin.
