Lauren's POV
I tried to get out of bed this morning, but Abby yelled at me to stay in bed. My leg hurt a lot, but I fought through the pain. I start to sit up again to try and leave, but Clarke walks into the room.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" she asks me.
I don't know if I should share my thoughts or feelings with her, I only really trust Lexa. But she's obviously in love with Lexa, so I guess I can. "I'm better than I was yesterday," I reply.
"My mom told me you were trying to get out of bed earlier, what for?" she asks as a questioning look appears on her face.
"I don't like to sit down for a long time, I need to move. I need to do something other than just lay here," I admitted.
Clarke opened her mouth to speak but no words came out as a man burst through the door.
"Clarke! We need you downstairs. A hoard is pretty much up against the doors, we need a way out," the man said in a rushed voice.
"Murphy, go downstairs and get everyone to start help barricade, I'll be down in a second," she tells him. The man runs out of the room and Clarke looks at the ground. "It never ends," she whispers just loud enough so that I can hear her. "Can you walk?" she asks me.
I whip the blankets off of me and sit up. "Are you kidding me? I can run," I say confidently. She looks at me for a second before running out the door.
I go to stand up and I'm not going to lie it hurt a lot, but I continued to walk. I limp my way down all of the stairs to the main floor where just about everyone is.
"Everyone quiet down!" Clarke yells. "I have a plan you may not like but it will work if you listen to me!" she goes quiet and takes a breath. "We are going to open the door, letting in about 10 walkers. We will have people standing there to kill them, and we will barricade the door. I need some volunteers to help with that, and I need people to help cut them open and spread the intestines on all of us," she finishes.
People start murmuring amongst themselves and a few people raise their hands as I scan the room. I see a familiar face, the forest green eyes looking up at Clarke adoringly. As if she can feel me staring at her, she turns her head to see me and begins to run over to me. She doesn't say anything when she gets to me, she just scans my whole body while her hands grasp my shoulders, and I watch as her eyes stop on the bandages attached to my leg. Her eyebrows furrow together and she looks up at me with concern in her eyes.
"What happened?" she asked me.
"Ontari cut me, but Clarke helped me. I didn't ask you because I didn't want you to be worried, please don't be mad at Clarke. She gave me the blood I needed to survive, just please don't be mad," I beg her. I don't want their relationship to be messed up, especially because of me.
"I'm not mad-are you okay?" she asks.
"I'm fine, it doesn't hurt that much," I lied.
I give her a quick hug to reassure her, and we look over to see Clarke at the door with a few other people.
"I'm going to go help Clarke, you stay here-stay safe," she tells me. She then turns to run over to Clarke, taking her knife out on the way.
Three men open the door after Clarke counts down from 3, and walkers flood in immediately. They quickly close the door, using all of their strength because of the pressure against the door. Clarke and Lexa are killing the walkers, and I watch as Clarke goes to plunge a knife into one of their heads but she winces in pain, dropping her knife and grabbing her left bicep. The walker that was attacking falls on to her, and I start to panic. Before I can do anything, Lexa plunges a knife into its head, killing it instantly. She lifts the walker off of Clarke and helps her up, Clarke still trying to hold her arm.
I stand and watch as the whole thing unfolds.
"Are you okay? What's wrong?" Lexa immediately asks as soon as she's up off the floor.
"I'm okay. Something just happened to my arm and I dropped my weapon. I'm fine, Lexa. I'm serious," she says while looking into Lexa's eyes.
Lexa pulls her into a hug and whispers something into her ear that only Clarke can hear.
Lexa's POV
"I can't lose you," I whisper into Clarke's ear as I hug her.
I pull away and Clarke begins to instruct everyone on what to do. She tells everyone to put as much guts of the walkers on themselves as they can, and that the guts will get rid of any human smell so the walkers won't know the difference between people and dead people. As everyone follows instructions, I also cover myself in blood and guts. It smells disgusting, but it will all be worth it in the end.
Once I'm covered, I go to find Clarke. I can't find her until her voice comes out above the rest.
"Is there anyone here that has done this before? I'd like to have someone at the front that knows how to do this and can make everyone feel safe," Clarke asks.
I scan the room to see only one raised.
Lauren.
